America is a barren landscape of smoldering ashes, devoid of life except for those people still struggling to scratch out some type of existence. Amidst this destruction, a father and his young son walk, always toward the coast, but with no real understanding that circumstances will improve once they arrive. Still, they persevere, and their relationship comes to represent goodness in a world of utter devastation.

    "Very Sad"
    Overall

One of my friends with an English degree recommended this as a good read. I choose to stay away from books that depress me. This is a bad book to read if you have children. The fact that it tapped into my emotions so completely means it was well written... but it is a simple and sad book dealing strictly with man vs man vs nature. The speech is simple the concept simple and the torture serious and believable. If you want a depressing sad story with no hope... this is your book. If you have no children and don't have someone relying on you for life you may enjoy it. I did not. I only finished it because I hoped the ending would redeem it. It did not.

For Bella Swan, there is one thing more important than life itself: Edward Cullen. But being in love with a vampire is even more dangerous than Bella ever could have imagined. Edward has already rescued Bella from the clutches of one evil vampire, but now, as their daring relationship threatens all that is near and dear to them, they realize their troubles may be just beginning.

    "Continue The Series"
    Overall

I didn't want to like this series... since it targets teenage girls. But it is well written, a good story and I am used to the narration. I even purchased this book using $$$ instead of using credits... something I have never done. I get 2 a month and only use credits to get the books I want. It is just as good as Twilight and the next I hear is better. I repeat: "I am hooked in this series even though I fought it" Great Read... Buy it. (I am about to pay $$ for #3 cause I don't want to wait the 4 days for my credits to re-up)

About three things I was certain. First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him, and I didn't know how dominant that part might be, that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.

    "Why 2 Credits?"
    Overall

It was very well written. The narration is OK. You get used to it. I'm glad I got it. But "2 credits"??? It's 5 years old. Make the first in a series 1 credit and get people interested. I prefer Audiobooks, but I'm just going to buy and read the next ones cause many amazing books out there for only 1 credit!! I couldn't give it a low star rating just because audible wants more money!

In a world of sea monsters, mermaids and lost islands, ghost ships, leviathans and weather witches, only the impetuous, the brave or the mad seek adventure at sea. . . After generations of friction, the leaders of two lands meet in the holy city of Ishalem to bring an end to the bloodshed and to divide the world between them.

    Overall

Scott bricks voice is very, very, "special" it is always the same. The voice works for some books very well, others not so much. At the end of the day this is a great book and I look to more in the series. IF... you have listened to brick before and gotten used to his voice... THEN you will like this book, if your not used to it and are not willing to spend 3 hours getting used to it... you will not like this book. It "is" a great book! If you don't listen to it "read it"
