Good characters and good story, with interesting background on Detroit. Look forward to more from this author.
With most mysteries, I am a bit bored by the end. Red Road kept me engaged with characters and plot--sorry to to get to the end.
I appreciated the historical context of conflicts among White newcomers, Indians, and Mexicans as well as the background of Texas cattle and oil. I did not like the characters and, without a plot, their stories grew tiresome.
Couldn't finish this boring lecture from the Far Right. Sorry I didn't read Audible.com reviews before purchasing.
. . . but no one in my book group enjoyed Mr. Fox, either. The reader has to give up on trying to order the pieces in time and geography.
Howard Hughes lead a life of nutty and/or brilliant behaviors--performed over and over again. But he never had the personal growth or relationships that make for a compelling biography.
