No, the narrator just makes it so unpleasant.
Since Tuesday, because it also deals with dogs assisting a soldier.
The narrator made me stop listening to the book. I love the content of the book but will have to read it myself.
The sample button has been very helpful to me and I now use it before ordering any book. The right narrator does make a difference. I also like that I can search by narrator. This feature caused me to buy several books which I would have probably not considered if it wasn't for the narrator.
Absolutely not. It is poorly written, the music openings for each chapter make it sound like a low budget movie. The preaching is tiresome. If you have trouble falling asleep, this might be for you.
not sure, possibly "Ireland"
I wish there was an easy way to get a credit back for books such as this.
No, I would not unless I knew the person was familiar with European history.
Her voice was not appropriate for male characters and her foreign accents left a lot to be desired.
Paul, because he sounds like he has a lot of interesting stories to tell.
I think I would have enjoyed reading the boom more than listening to the audio version.
I am working overseas for several months and my job is very hard on my eyes. Audio books are a life saver to get through the lonely evenings. Needless to say, I have gone through many books since August.
This is one of the very best books and I couldn't wait to get back to the B&B and plug in my headphones. Amazing story, great reader and so many life lessons all wrapped up in what seems an ordinary life story. This could happen to anyone.
I just ordered another one of her books.
When she finally read the letter
She brings the characters to life
Adam Mitzner is ok but Kevin T Collins is getting on my nerves
Too early to tell
I feel that I wasted my money on this book
why: It is about him
His narrative is excellent
yes, when he finally won his battle with addiction
I learned a lot about his early movies which I will be watching now. Many interesting facts about Hollywood and other actors. More of a behind the scenes view. Will read this book again.
I think a person who enjoys reading books along the lines of Harlequin Romance novels may enjoy this.
I will continue reading books in this genre but would not attempt to make it through another book by this author.
Timothy Dalton did the best he could with the material he was given. I don't think the narrator is the problem here.
Andy, Claire, Phoebe
I am an avid audio book listener but this one was very disappointing. I wanted to like it since I love Ireland but the story bordered on silly and it the storyline was too predictable.
A less predictable story line.
It bordered on cheap Romance novel
Naration was the best part of the book, so I wouldn't change anything.
I would have cut at least half. It was long and therefore became boring.
I purchased the book based on the narrator. I would not buy another book by this author.
another narrator, a better plot
There was no element of surprise.
Not sure but her voice is grinding and made me stop listening more than once
More than half
I wish I didn't waste a credit on this book
I really enjoyed the narration and preferred it over the print version.
Most memorable moment for me was when all the different life stories linked.
Crystal, because she could have been a success story and it was sad that she committed suicide. The system failed her and her brother.
Harry Potter never captured my interest. I purchased this book because of the narrator sample and was pleasantly surprised when I discovered a well written story. I read the other comments and I do believe, you have to have lived in the UK and be familiar with their current social struggles to get into this story. Not to be disrespectful, but most Americans are very unfamiliar with other countries, their customs, politics and social issues.
