Growing up with telepathic abilities, Sookie Stackhouse realized early on there were things she'd rather not know. And now that she's an adult, she also realizes that some things that she knows about, she'd rather not see—like Eric Northman feeding off another woman. A younger one. There's a thing or two she'd like to say about that, but she has to keep quiet—Felipe de Castro, the Vampire King of Louisiana (and Arkansas and Nevada), is in town.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I have loved this series since the beginning, but the last two books have really left me disappointed. I feel like Charlaine is done with the series, but keeps putting out a new book because the fan base is so big. Know when to end a good thing, before it goes downhill.

Sweet, shy Mara Hanover is in love with her neighbor. For four years, she has secretly watched her dream man from afar. Handsome police detective Mitch Lawson is way out of her league. She's a girl from the wrong side of the tracks, and there's no way a guy like Mitch would want anything to do with her. But when Mara has a leaky faucet that she can't fix, it's Mitch who comes to her rescue.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Mitch is a tough detective from DENVER, not New York. Mitch, as well as some of the other characters sound native to NY/NJ every time there was a fight scene. Very distracting. I've lived in Denver for a long time and no one talks like that unless they're a transplant from the east coast.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. The story was great for the most part. Although Mara's issues and constantly pushing Mitch away became tedious. The level of insecurity becomes unbelievable after a while.
