This is the second most beautiful story I've ever read in my 44 years. It compares to a book I read ages ago "Though None Go With Me." I plan to have my daughters read both when they get older. I completely forgave the little shortcomings in how the plot was developed at some points because the story is just so beautiful and perfect. This story had the two things I love the most wrapped up in one book: a love that is complete, and science fiction. I think the final words by Mr. Peretti in which he addresses the reader, truly drove home the story and brought a whole new perspective on the book. Thank you Mr. Peretti for regaling us with this journey through time, love, commitment and wonder.
I really enjoyed listening to the book. Jimmy's own story was very compelling to me and added a novelty to the book. Most books speak in general, not lived experiences. He also gives you bits from other books on this subject that help drive the point home. The explanations were very clear and in terms that I could understand. I liked the book so much that I purchased a hard copy to refer to when needed. Additionally, he offers a PDF that summarizes pertinent information that listeners would otherwise have to write down, such as recommended links, books, test results, etc...I've never seen anyone else do that. Thank you! Some stuff gets repeated, which I found helpful and really cemented the idea in my head. I think repetition of some of the topics it's needed if you want to put this to practice.
I've been a big advocate of low-carb living for a while, read several books on the subject, but never read about gluconeogenesis and high protein diets. This information explained to me why I had been having a hard time loosing weight on a low-carb high protein, moderate fat diet. Since going into nutritional ketosis I have seen the weight come off nicely. If you're doing low-carb high protein, you should get this book.
