funny magical thought-provoking
I loved the whole book.
Stephen Briggs does a masterful job with Terry Pratchett's books
Stehen Briggs is a gifted storyteller and makes the disc world series so enjoyable to listen to. You will find yourself laughing out loud. I would want all of my granddaughters to know Tiffany Aching. She shows us that listening to what others say and don't say and being observant instead of running head first into a situation offers better solutions for all involved.
suspense courage family
Frank is always a favorite but Henry is so mag as the hero - although unwilling to be so. He show us that being courageous does not mean there is no fear.
I could listen (and in fact have) to this book over and over. The whole series is excellent. Stephen Briggs does such a great job of bringing the characters to life and Terry Pratchett writes such a great heroine in Tiffany. She is so thoughtful and kind and a great listener. She thinks for herself and does not let herself be bullied but follows the path she deems to be correct. I laugh out loud in many places.
The narrator does an incredible job delineating between the different characters: bratty younger sister, headstrong middle sister and poor Henry, thrown quite unexpectedly into the mix but Frank, well, Mr. Wilson gives Frank such innate wisdom in being a father and quite a few memorable quotes. I laughed out loud at the children's squabbles and my heart sighed whenever Frank dispensed his fatherly wisdom.
What a great book for children AND adults!
