Emilio Sandoz is a remarkable man, a living saint and Jesuit priest who undergoes an experience so harrowing and profound that it makes him question the existence of God. This experience - the first contact between human beings and intelligent extraterrestrial life - begins with a small mistake and ends in a horrible catastrophe.

Yvette Flores says: "Far fetched book but good summer listen."

Would you listen to The Sparrow again? Why?

Do yourself a favor and read this book. Makes other books seem amateurish by comparison. A consummate author. Very smart but knows how to tell a story.

At once wildly original and stuffed with irresistible nostalgia, Ready Player One is a spectacularly genre-busting, ambitious, and charming debut—part quest novel, part love story, and part virtual space opera set in a universe where spell-slinging mages battle giant Japanese robots, entire planets are inspired by Blade Runner, and flying DeLoreans achieve light speed.

Julie W. Capell says: "I’m sorry I waited so long to read this book."

What would have made Ready Player One better?

Didn't feel at all periolous or thrilling until characters were endangered in the 'real' world.

Would you ever listen to anything by Ernest Cline again?

    yes

Did Wil Wheaton do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

    expressive

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Disappointment

    Any additional comments?

Love to read books about the 70's and 80's. Didn't feel like I was back there. It was like looking at pictures without experiencing the memories.

    "Awful"
    Overall

Can't say enough about how awful it is. Like it was written by a 12 year old. Unreadable. Did I mention one of the character is a Vietnam Vet who is haunted by the war?

Caitlin Decter is young, pretty, feisty, a genius at math - and blind. Still, she can surf the net with the best of them, following its complex paths clearly in her mind. But Caitlin's brain long ago co-opted her primary visual cortex to help her navigate online. So when she receives an implant to restore her sight, instead of seeing reality, the landscape of the World Wide Web explodes into her consciousness, spreading out all around her in a riot of colors and shapes.
