    Any additional comments?

I would love to read the rest of this series, but not at these prices. Audible should run a sale on this series

An empty apartment, a missing family, that's creepy. But this is like finding a military base with no one on it. Fighters and tanks idling on the runway with no drivers. This is bad juju. Something wrong happened here. What you should do is tell everyone to leave. The gates have opened the way to a thousand new worlds and the rush to colonize has begun. Settlers looking for a new life stream out from humanity's home planets. Ilus, the first human colony on this vast new frontier, is being born in blood and fire.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

    Jefferson Mays

Would you ever listen to anything by James S. A. Corey again?

Not likely. I fell in love with this series largely because of the amazing narration of Jefferson Mays. Changing the narrator at this point seems like a betrayal to the fans of the Expanse series. There may have been a perfectly good reason to switch to a new narrator. However, putting this book into Erik Davies' ill equipped hands indicates to me the author does not care enough about his own material to ensure it is presented consistently and professionally across the whole of the series. There are a number of talented narrators out there who could have done a passable or better job narrating this book. But they were passed over for Erik Davies. AMAZING! Frankly, James Corey's material isn't good enough to survive an inept narrator.
I will be returning this book and moving on from the series and Corey. If he does not care about his own work and how it is presented, why should I.
