Audible has given us the first three books in this series and I have listened to them all. I find them light and quirky. If you like Molly Harpers books, you may like these. I hope Audible will give us the rest of this series.

The Star Kingdom has a new generation of officers! And this elite group hand-picked and trained by Honor Harrington herself is going to be needed immediately, as their first assignment turns out to be more dangerous than anyone expected. What was supposed to be a quiet outpost, far from the blazing conflict between the Star Kingdom of Manticore and the People's Republic of Haven has actually been targeted by an unholy alliance between the slaveholders of Manpower.

As much as I love David Weber's World, I have to say that although Jay Snyder does a great job with the male voices, I liken his female voices to The Brothers Gibb when they struggled into tight pants and re-named them selves The Bee Gee's! I'm sorry Jay but, you can't use a falsetto on all the female voices and get away with it. Your female voices made me flinch every time I heard one.

A few hours ago, Sherry Carne would have sworn that vampires didn't exist. That's before rogue immortals rampage through her store, leaving bloody chaos (literally) in their wake. The kicker comes when Sherry learns that one of the vamps on the bad guys' trail may be her life mate. Her head says it's impossible. The rest of her takes one look at Basileios Argeneau and has much more interesting ideas.

Would you try another book from Lynsay Sands and/or Samantha Quan?

Yes, I have and will continue to buy Lynsay's books.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Justen Bricker, although his character is aggravating one minute it (he) also makes me laugh out loud the next.

Have you listened to any of Samantha Quan’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, she does a fine job.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No, not a stand alone story. Now if made Argeneau into a TV series......

    Any additional comments?

This book has some slow points and I feel it left story lines unfinished, at the end you are left wondering what happened to the other key people in the book. Maybe Lynsay will clear up loose ends in her next book. I don't want a spoiler here so I'll stop with that said.

Single mom Heather Donovan’s dreams of home and family are tantalizingly within reach when she settles in Chesapeake Shores. The welcoming arms of the O’Brien clan embrace her and her son. But accepting their support seems to further alienate her son’s father, Connor O’Brien. His parents’ divorce and his career as a high-powered divorce attorney have left him jaded about marriage. Then everything changes. Will the possibility of a future without Heather make Connor look at love and his career differently?

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

    Sorry Sheryl.......Never penned.

What was most disappointing about Sherryl Woods’s story?

The two main characters Heather and Connor seem to be emotionally age five, not mid to late twenties. I wanted to just lock them in a room and forget them. the book was full of the same scene played over and over and over however many, many places and times throughout the story and by both characters. Sheryl flogged that horse to death. I listen for pleasure and this book only made me disdainful.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

    Baby, bath water.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Connors seeing his job for what it was and the saving of a great old house.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Hot Zone to be better than the print version?

This is one happy audio book listener!I'm a avid reader (on average 4-5 books a week) who tends to go from page one to "The End" in one day. After a visit to my optometrist where I received a stern scolding and two choices on how I could save my vision from the strain that I repeatedly put it through 1) Give up books or 2) Switch to audio books, I went with audio and I have been grateful to him for that advice ever since. So, for that reason, Yes.

What did you like best about this story?

I like the characters, places and story lines Jayne comes up with.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I have two, 1) The dust bunny (Lyle) bringing Sadona her means of escape and 2) Sadona tells her ex to get lost.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    yes, and did.

    Any additional comments?

I would like to see Jayne pump out Rainshadow/Ghost Hunters books faster.
Sorry Jayne, I know it's not that easy but, one can hope.

The year is 2008 and Samantha Kofer's career at a huge Wall Street law firm is on the fast track - until the recession hits and she gets downsized, furloughed, escorted out of the building. Samantha, though, is one of the "lucky" associates. She's offered an opportunity to work at a legal aid clinic for one year without pay, after which there would be a slim chance that she'd get her old job back. In a matter of days Samantha moves from Manhattan to Brady, Virginia, population 2,200, in the heart of Appalachia, a part of the world she has only read about.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No, I found it dragged almost from the start. It's sad because the subject and plot had great potential! However, Samantha Kofer was some kind of dull and not very likeable, she came off as flat and a bore. It also felt to me like John got tired of writing and just ended the book without finishing it. I have a strong feeling most of the people who read this book will reach the end and say whaaaa? I for one like to know if the "Bad Guy's" truely get brought down and how they pay for the wrongs committed. An epilogue would be far better then how this book ends.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Start over with the subject and plot and try again.

What three words best describe Catherine Taber’s performance?

    Can't say.

Could you see Gray Mountain being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

If they give Samantha a stronger, likable personality and have a clearer ending for it. As I said earlier the concept had great potential. So, with that said, I think it could be turned into a very good TV series. ? on the cast.

    Any additional comments?

    Sorry John, not this time.

What did you love best about Snow Falling on Bluegrass?

Not just in Snow Falling on Bluegass but in all Mooly's books is her gift of creating intelligent yet quirky personalities and make you love them for it. I have listened to and loved all of them, Snow Falling is another to fall under that Molly Harper book list of "I have loved and enjoyed"

What other book might you compare Snow Falling on Bluegrass to and why?

Any of Molly's Jane J, Half-Moon or Bluegrass. they all give a good listen.

Which character – as performed by Amanda Ronconi – was your favorite?

Well, Amanda is one of my favortie narrators, she does her job well. so, it's hard to say which character is a favorite based on her narration. With that said however, I had to smile every time the Geek Squad Boy's entered the story. I hope to see her ad them to more of her new Bluegrass books.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Laugh and smile. You can always count on that from one of Molly's books.

    Any additional comments?

My hope is that Molly keeps the books coming.

I listened to this saga by starting with Dead Man's Walk followed by Comanche Moon and then onto Lonesome Dove. The first two books had continuity, the Who, What, Where and When had all been clear. In Lonesome Dove however, it fell apart --- people and places that and who have been part of this story from the start suddenly A) moved, B) never knew each other, C) changed in the time of happening, or D) did not have the same bearing. I find this just a tad bit disconcerting and disappointing! I'll go no further for fear I run the risk of a spoiler. With all that said, I did love the base storyline and I'm glad I listened, the people and places came alive in my minds eye and the saga invoked all the feelings of humor, tension, grief and relief (not necessarily in that orde). So, If not for the continuity I would have given all three books a sold five stars.

This collection of stories are a little of old home, the writers kept the feel and taste of CH's books. I give a big "Well Done" to each of them. They also made a wonderful choice by keeping Johanna Parker as the narrater. Again, "Well Done". I have loved and still love the Sookie books and I mourn the end of the series. I find this book bitter because It's the last of a great thing, I find it sweet becouse it gave me one last taste of a wonderful series. So, if you loved and enjoyed the Sookie books as I have, this is a must buy.
