While the public only heard of his last 2 years, his story of the Special Operations Forces is a rare, unclassified story…. a unique man I met twice, I enjoyed his thorough autobiography.
I spent several years as a Revolutionary War reenactor because I could not fathom what that war was like..... listening to this, I could so totally FEEL what it was like to react & perform the drill that transformed the Continentals I continue to feel the pride of a soldier for other soldiers.... even better than their first Rev War novel!
Surprised to hear a story, so skewed to attacking anyone with wealth, even those that struggled to earn it..... must be a piece to support a cause....
I lived this story & found it quite informative to the great masses of those who are not informed or researching beyond the 6 PM news....
a bit opinionated, but well presented changes we rarely hear about.... the one's I followed up were indeed accurate... recommended.
30 years a soldier, but this man's story makes me lower my head & say "Could I have done this?" I wonder how so many did in WWII....
Well done.... linking the great stories into a historical tale of our history & food.... a multitude of times I said "Heck, is that why?".... enjoyed
A great set of well researched stories from a thorough journalist... I loved it!
Interesting to read / hear a well thought thru summary from a interesting statistician... I have 2 graduate degrees in economics & this is a great book!
As always, richly done based on thorough research…. believable & written to make this little covered period of history read like a movie script. I enjoyed it immensely.
A neat summary of the politics that led to & surrounded the largest acquisition of land for America. Liked it.
