  • Ice Hunt

    • UNABRIDGED (15 hrs and 43 mins)
    • By James Rollins
    • Narrated By John Meagher
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Carved into a moving island of ice twice the size of the United States, Ice Station Grendel has been abandoned for more than 70 years. The twisted brainchild of the finest minds of the former Soviet Union, it was designed to be inaccessible and virtually invisible. But an American undersea research vessel has inadvertently pulled too close - and something has been sighted moving inside the allegedly deserted facility, something whose survival defies every natural law.

    "Great Book!"

This audiobook was awesome! Action-packed, interest-grabbing, heart-stopping, breath-taking.....there was never a moment in this book that didn't keep me thinking and trying to figure things out. Surprise moment very well planned and executed. Characters are very realistic and easy to relate to....I got so into the story, that I couldn't wait to see what was gonna happen next.

  • Magic Bites: Kate Daniels, Book 1

    • UNABRIDGED (9 hrs and 6 mins)
    • By Ilona Andrews
    • Narrated By Renée Raudman
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Atlanta would be a nice place to live, if it weren't for the magic. When the magic is up, rogue mages cast their spells and monsters appear, while guns refuse to fire and cars fail to start. But then technology returns, and the magic recedes as unpredictably as it arose, leaving all kinds of paranormal problems in its wake.

    Sara says: "Pure Steel!"
    "Great book and series!"
What made the experience of listening to Magic Bites the most enjoyable?

The characters are set in Atlanta, GA, which happens to be only a couple of hours away from where I live. Being familiar with the location makes this story very relatable. Renee Raudman is an awesome narrator!

Who was your favorite character and why?

It's difficult to choose one character, but Kate is one of my top 5 fav characters in this series. She's a strong female role model and knows how to kick butt without whining about it.

Which character – as performed by Renée Raudman – was your favorite?

Renee does a great job wiht the voices of Kate and Curran. You almost forget that you are listening to one person perform the voices.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed, cried, gasped, cheered, and some reactions I can't put into words.

    Any additional comments?

Awesome series. All of the books in this series hold your attention and make the listener feel like they are in the story.

  • Mastiff: The Legend of Beka Cooper, Book 3

    • UNABRIDGED (20 hrs and 29 mins)
    • By Tamora Pierce
    • Narrated By Susan Denaker

The Legend of Beka Cooper gives Tamora Pierce's fans exactly what they want - a smart and savvy heroine making a name for herself on the mean streets of Tortall's Lower City - while offering plenty of appeal for new readers as well. From the Hardcover edition.

Marie says: "One of the best Tamora Pierce series yet!"
    "Another Great!"
What did you love best about Mastiff?

What I loved best about Mastiff was the mystery and investigation action. As I listened to all the pieces of the puzzle come to life, my mind was constantly working to try to figure it all out....only to find out that there was still so much more to the story. As usual, Tamora Pierce took me on a journey with the characters I've come to know and love in this series.

What did you like best about this story?

All of the "little" surprises is what I liked best about the story. The struggle and near misses of the characters and their prey was breathtaking and attention keeping. I found myself almost in the story as I listened.

Which character – as performed by Susan Denaker – was your favorite?

Of course, Beka is my favorite character. Her interactions with the other characters and storyline always makes me smile or outright laugh at times.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Beka's relationship with Achoo is especially touching. The deceit of one of the characters was devastating.
