Jared is a great continuation of the Johnson family. Jared is the second book to this series and is not a disappointment. It has the same flow as the first "Caleb", but the storyline is different.
Jared is the second brother to Caleb. He is the doer, the organizer of protection for the family, the enforcer... He has cut the connections to his feeling, executing the role of enforcer and opting not to feel for anyone but his family. Family is very important and friends come in second. "No one" has the right to hurt his family, and the person that changed his brother Caleb was going to pay.
I again recommend this series to fellow listeners. The story line flows smoothly and the content is rich and full of values, right and wrong, love and hate, that make the story excellent and totally enjoyable. Again, there are sex scenes, but not so many that fast-forwarding (if you want or need to) will make you lose the whole story... :) .
Tavia Gilbert did a lot better with narration this time. Although there were a few places, my nerves were on edge.
Overall another great read.
This whole series is well worth the read, and I liked the way the story of Fay was added. Alley keeping her secrets really hurts, not sharing with friends and family, fighting her demons on her own, truly sucks, it's great though that she has such a great shadow to help. loved the way the author became a part of the stories. Great listen and read, Kristen Ashely Rocks...
This is my first Kristan Higgins book and I found it just right. KH writes with great emotion, character development, and sets the stage for the listener to be "With" the story and characters. I laughed out loud and cry silent tears, listening to this story.
If you need something well developed and light to listen to, this is your book. Amy Rubinate's reading did not distract from the story, she was able to enhance it with her character reading. Although her soft spoken reading sometimes TRIED to distract, the story line was able to keep you inside, feeling and experiencing the conflicts, embarrassments, anger, and desires.
This is a fun love story, with the hinting of sex. but if you are looking for a story that takes you along with the sexual passions a person can find in other books you will be disappointed.
I recommend this book, for the light hearted, clean joys, with many passions life throws at each of us. It is an Excellent listen and I will be purchasing many more of Kristan Higgins books.
I have read Jennifer Fallon's book for many years now and was glad to see Audible start getting them in Audio. The Demon Child "Medalon" is well written and created to intertwine ones own imagination while the story is being read. With that said Imogen Church did a good job with the emotions and characters of the story. I will not give any spoilers. The only reason I am writing this review is to let others know that they will not go wrong down loading this book and the ones that follow. The Demon Child trilogy is a great read as well as a great Listen..
I chose this book out of NEED. Books by my favorite authors are just not showing up fast enough to keep me entertained, so while out looking for something, I read reviews by others and took the chance. Am I ever glad I did. Although this book does not have a story that carries from one book to the next, it does contain many stories in one. The story of a young boy who has lost his cornerstone in life, a young man dealing with experiences he had while fighting for our freedom, and the addiction he developed when he came home. It also becomes entertaining because of the love that develops with a historian, that has been hired to help with a historical film. Although there are some "sex" scenes, it isn't porno.
I really enjoyed this book it made me laugh, cry and fear for the characters. The narrators were great creating the atmosphere that was required for each character and circumstance. I highly recommend this book for a great listen.
Trudi Canavan's, traitor spy series is a great series by author, but the narration leaves a listener wanting. His pauses are wrong, the story has no feelings to grasp. Very dissatisfied with this book.
The final book to the series of "The Wheel of Time" a LLLOOOONNNGG awaited conclusion. Brandon Sanderson did not disappoint this Robert Jordan fan with the finish of the series. The Listen was capturing and spellbinding from the begining to the end. I laughed at Matt... and cried before, during and after the Battle of Light against the Shadow. This is a great ending to Robert Jordans "Wheel of Time series, but I can say that it felt like a new beginning. I HIGHLY recommend this series to all who are looking for a good listen. I do not think you will be disappointed
The second book to the series is NOT a disappointment. The story continues with Karou, and her friends.
Laini Taylor continues with her excellent writing style. She is able to create a story that not only allows us to listen to it's easy flow, but experience the many emotions of Karou's and her friends. The fear, loss, desire, joy, to mention only a few of the emotions.
Again, I recommend this series to all fantasy listener.
The first book of a new series. Daughter of Smoke and Bone is a fun Story of a girl/woman that is caught between love and cultures. Laini Taylor created a new world, but combined our world into a mix that works. Although this book and series could be considered a YA series. Older adults can enjoy the listen as well.
Yes I would recommend this series to others. I feel comparisons of other series to this would be "The House of Night" series by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast, or "Vampire Earth" by E.E. Knight. they are all easy listen, with some humor.
Only complaint is the series is slow coming, one has to wait for the next installment. :)
I have waited so very long for the conclusion to this series, and this Prologue is a small taste to what an ending it will be. This small segment held me spellbound, not wanting it to end... but of course, it did. I am truly waiting for the book.
Brandon Sanderson has done justice to the last two books he has written in this series. Although his style is different, it is not so different then Jordan to stop the enriched story from continuing.
I recommend this series to all fantasy readers.
Slade is the fourth brother and last of the Johnson family. He is the inventor and is always in his lab working on ways to stop the enemy. However, the enemy is not only out there it is in his home as well. He needs to find a cure for his nephew. Then his text-messaging friend is in danger and he must get out of his lab to help her. This is the latest book in the "Shadow Wrangler" series and the romance is as intriguing.
