I think John Hart has a lot of talent ... but ever see a writer try too hard? Ever do it yourself? Usually, it spells disaster. John Hart overkills on the adjectives, enough that I wanted to scream at times. Will I read another of his books? Absolutely! Like I said, I think he has great talent ... but this book's verbose narrative made me feel like fingernails scraping the chalkboard. Enough said.
I was overjoyed when Audible included author Greg Iles. It's such a personal charge to find an author so compelling, so gifted that I go searching the web for more information about what makes them tick, who they are as individuals. Greg Iles is such an author! Blood Memory takes incest and weaves a story with a sledge hammer kind of nuance - I promise you won't forget it!
I followed up on the advice of other reviewers and read James Burke. This is my second book and I have not been disappointed. Burke's character development is multi faceted, real ... in a word, superb. Will Patton as the reader is perfect. Burke's insight into the New Orleans pre and post Katrina is captivating ... you can see, feel and actually almost smell the atmosphere. If you've ever been to New Orleans ...to Louisiana and the South, you'll get a kick out of Burke and his Dave Rabichaux character. Great action ... great characters ... a satisfying book expereince.
I find Dr. Laura more caustic than helpful. She seems inordinately anti feminist - which after awhile gets wearisome. I was surprised she didn't try to blame the feminist movement for the Iraq war. After listening to this book I felt like I needed to take a shower. While the whole far right v far left discourse misses the mark for most Americans, I can see how Dr. Laura could be the darling of the 'barefoot and keep 'em pregnant bunch'. However, she is no less insulting or objectionable than those on the far left who bash all men. What Dr. Laura is ... is a first class marketeer - she's found her niche. Nothing original or thought provoking here.
Found this book on sale and was in the mood for some 'self-help' inspiration. This book actually provided some thoughtful inspiration ... a different perspective on the way we love. I liked it. Be aware that there is a religious undertone (Christian)- not offensive, but it is a presence. All in all I think this book is well worth the reading. Liked that the principles could be applied in any love relationship , not just for couples but for families and children as well.
This is not worth the time to listen much less the money. The author tries to be 'cute' with humor that is at best trite. What was I thinking when I bought this??? My only salvation is that it was on sale when I bought it.
Good suspense laced with humor. What a deal!!Thoroughly enjoyed this download. Kept me intrigued with its well developed plot and laughing with its excellent characterizations. Came away feeling like I knew the characters as real people. If you like suspense, you won't be disappointed
I like looking to see what books others have enjoyed - nothing's worse than buying a book that makes you want to throw it through the window. This book is a great case for reading reviews. Like others, I found Missing to be 100% entertaining. The characters are multi faceted and the suspense frequently bone chilling. Kept me absorbed from beginning to end. The ending was an unexpected and absorbing surprise. If you like suspense this is definitely worth the time ... and the money.
