  • Uncle Tom's Cabin

    • UNABRIDGED (18 hrs and 27 mins)
    • By Harriet Beecher Stowe
    • Narrated By Buck Schirner
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Eliza Harris, a slave whose child is to be sold, escapes her beloved home on the Shelby plantation in Kentucky and heads North, eluding the hired slave catchers. Aided by the underground railroad, Quakers, and others opposed to the Fugitive Slave Act, Eliza, her son, and her husband George run toward Canada. As the Harrises flee to freedom, another slave, Uncle Tom, is sent "down the river" for sale. Too loyal to abuse his master's trust, too Christian to rebel, Tom wrenches himself from his family.

    Michael says: "excellent narrator"
    "Solid performance, great price."

I would highly recommend this audiobook to anyone. The story is a classic for a reason, and the performance is very well done and engaging. He spoke a bit slowly at times, but I sped him up using my Audible app. Great purchase.

  • City of Fallen Angels: The Mortal Instruments, Book 4

    • UNABRIDGED (12 hrs and 39 mins)
    • By Cassandra Clare
    • Narrated By Ed Westwick, Molly C. Quinn

City of Fallen Angels take up where City of Glass left off. With Valentine out of the way, Clary thought she and Jace could finally be together--but when someone starts murdering the Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine's Circle and leaving their bodies around New York City in a manner designed to destroy the new peace between Downworlders and Shadowhunters, she realizes the past can never be left entirely behind.

Bibliophile Mom says: "WARNING: HORRIBLE NARRATORS"
    "Good story, rough narration."

Ed Westwick should stick to screen acting. His pacing was inconsistent; he needed to enunciate; the mumbling was just ridiculous. I found myself repeatedly having to rewind and listen to sections over again because I couldn't understand him. Although Molly Quinn's narration was pretty spot on, I wish that I would have just read this title instead of listening to it!

  • Follow Me to Freedom: Leading as an Ordinary Radical

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 3 mins)
    • By John Perkins, Shane Claiborne
    • Narrated By Valmont Thomas, Eddie Lopez

Re-imagine leading and following in a world longing for true justice, compassion and freedom followers of Christ yearn to see the world changed in compassionate, positive, effective ways. As prophetic voices, Shane Claiborne and John Perkins lead the way in this move to be the hands, feet and heart of Jesus.

    "Great listen."

Although the authors themselves did not read this book, the actors were wonderful and made listening to this EXCELLENT book very enjoyable. Honestly, the narrators were easier to understand than the actual authors...It was a relief to get through the introduction. You should absolutely download and listen to this book.
