Since birth, Nyx has been betrothed to the evil ruler of her kingdom - all because of a reckless bargain her father struck. And since birth, she has been training to kill him. Betrayed by her family yet bound to obey, Nyx rails against her fate. Still, on her 17th birthday, she abandons everything she's ever known to marry the all-powerful, immortal Ignifex. Her plan? Seduce him, disarm him, and break the 900-year-old curse he put on her people. But Ignifex is not what Nyx expected. The strangely charming lord beguiles her, and his castle - a shifting maze of magical rooms - enthralls her.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would - the story was great.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the weaving of the original tale into this new retelling

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

i wasn't thrilled with the reader. Her voice was way too mature for a 17 year old. It took me a long time into the book to get past that. Once I finally did the book flew

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes.. but if I tell it will ruin the story

    Any additional comments?

publishers need to keep in mind the audience who will be listening when choosing a reader. Just like the cover helps a person decide on a book the sound of the readers voice can put off a person from listening to the entire novel. I find that especially true in YA. Kids find it important for the characters to sound like them.

What made the experience of listening to The Maze Runner the most enjoyable?

I felt like I was in a race...the entire time I was reading this book. It was an amazing experience.

    Any additional comments?

I tried to read this book in print first and started it several times. I could not get past the first chapter. When I began the audio, chapters just flew... It all made sense and the characters came alive. I felt like I was in the maze, that I was part of all that happened. I wanted them to survive, to beat the odds. It was an amazing experience. I am looking forward to the movie coming out, but am fearful that it will destroy the iage I have created in my head of the maze and the walls. Read the book first. After you see the movie you will never be able to imagine what these things look like, you will only see someone eles's vision.

    Sure.

What did you like best about this story?

    Kept moving forward

What aspect of LC Kane’s performance would you have changed?

The voice was too old for the character

Was Something Wicked worth the listening time?

It was . The story was good. But maybe only daytime listening.

    Any additional comments?

Strange and creepy thriller. I wasn't sure if it was a romance or a horror story

Would you consider the audio edition of Champion to be better than the print version?

I didn't read the print edition, but the audio was fabulous. I found myself in the car not wanting to peeling myself out, because I might missing something.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I don't really pick characters. I enjoy the book as a whole... Choosing characters would be like pulling the toppings off my pizza. I like to taste it all together.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I had lots of times the the "feels" get the best of me. Tears fell and tissues were used... but don't want to give parts away...

    Any additional comments?

Read them in order, and don't listen to others. make up your own mind.. It has to be about you..

Would you consider the audio edition of The Selection to be better than the print version?

    I don't know I haven't read the print version.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Selection?

The first kiss between Nix and the Prince... so sweet and innocent. and still sexy

Have you listened to any of Amy Rubinate’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

She is a great reader, able to sound like a 17 year old, but in a put together voice.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES! and I did.. stayed up all night listening and rewinding and relistening... so good, that I downloaded THE ELITE right away to start that one.

    Any additional comments?

great book and well written. The vocabulary is excellent. You may catch come of those SAT words in there...
