Robert McGee’s best-selling book has helped millions of readers learn how to be free to enjoy Christ’s love while no longer basing their self-worth on their accomplishments or the opinions of others. In fact, Billy Graham said that it was a book that “should be read by every Christian.” Discover what two million readers have already discovered: that true significance is found only in Christ.

I am grateful that this book is available. At this time in my life I am seeking information that allows me to face the truth and have suggested solutions that are realist. I am a poor writer but this is the best I could do let the author know how much wonderful this book is.

Who Asked You? opens as Trinetta leaves her two young sons with her mother, Betty Jean, and promptly disappears. BJ, a trademark McMillan heroine, already has her hands full dealing with her other adult children, two opinionated sisters, an ill husband, and her own postponed dreams - all while holding down a job as a hotel maid. Her son Dexter is about to be paroled from prison; Quentin, the family success, can't be bothered to lend a hand; and taking care of two lively grandsons is the last thing BJ thinks she needs.

The Prices are introduced by Viola, the family's outspoken matriarch: Her husband, Cecil, has shut the door behind him for the last time; and their four adult kids, scattered across the country, seem determined to send her to her grave, or at least to the hospital with worrying. Paris is divorced, mother to a nearly seventeen-year-old son and the one who always comes to everybody's rescue, although she doesn't have a clue as to how to save herself.

Franklin is a construction worker who says he's tired of women and their demands. Zora is a struggling singer who also claims to have lost interest in romance. But when these hard-shelled survivors cross paths, the outcome is electric and perplexing. Beyond the joy of sex, Franklin and Zora see the possibility of a solid, lasting relationship; the trouble is, they're far from sure of how to get there.

Would you consider the audio edition of Disappearing Acts to be better than the print version?

No. My learning style prefers audio book over reading. This is a personal preference. Terry McMillian and Avery Brooks are phenominal readers. I am so happy I chose to buy this book. I will definitely listen again and again.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Disappearing Acts?

The idea of loving someones true beauty and strength despite their faults, resonated for me in this story.

What does Terry McMillan and Avery Brooks bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Talent!!!! you just need to hear them talk.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed a lot and cried real tears.

    Any additional comments?

This book is a must listen!!!!!
