Dick Hill's narration
He is unbelievable story teller and addictive.. I will keep listening to everything he narrates just for the tone, incantation of his voice etc. He is the best!!
It kept me on my iPhone for hours and in the middle of the night till I finished
God Bless Dick Hill.. I feel like he is a special friend
In the beginning, I thought the narrator was too bland. However as the story picked up he became better and better and was incredible by the end. I haven't enjoyed a book this much in so long it was wonderful. I would listen to all nine hours in one sitting. Fabulous.
I love the story...have to tolerate the narrator who is mono voiced and lifeless
so much so, that I had to buy book and read it to feel the tension that the narrator could not project. what a shame that this incredible book and story was broadcast by this dull narrator. too bad he has been chosen for the next book.
no... i had to parse it out because of the boring narrator
This story is so well told that I travelled to the Dominican Republic;s history and felt what living there and then being an immigrant in the streets of New Jersey.... It was compelling, exciting, well written and a page turner... Thank you Junot!!
A culture I knew nothing of became real and alive for me
Dick Hill brings alive Kurt Wallander, like not other.. his version, quality of his voice, emotions, even when he "does" a woman , is so compelling.. He brings me hours and hours of entertainment.. love him
Kurt in pursuit of killer with a wooden plank in a dark park
every moment with Kurt Wallander's tortured soul as spoken by Dick Hill
Will listen to everything every done by Dick Hill.
This narrator is awful, and does not get Harry Hole at all.. like Robin Sachs or Dick Hill .. they would know how to read this. Had to stop and buy the book, so that the narrator did not ruin my image of Hole as set by Robin Sachs who I love.
Narrator does not understand Jo Nesbo characters and the inflections that he gives others.. and Hole are ruinous to the those of us who have heard Robin Walsh.
would never by a book by that narrator
I could not get past the second chapter, because the narrator was sooooo irritating. He was way too dramatic and I could not stand his voice. That has never happened to me. so now I will read the hardcover to finish the book. His voice was loud, pushy, up and down volume to illustrate acting out the parts. Very, very annoying.
