The Small House at Allington introduces Trollope's charming heroine, Lily Dale, to the Barsetshire scene. Lily is the niece of Squire Dale, an embittered old bachelor living in the main house on his property at Allington. He has loaned an adjacent small house rent free to his widowed sister-in-law and her daughters, Lily and Bell. But the relations between the two houses are strained, affecting the romantic entanglements of the girls.

    Overall

Mr. Trollope has a winner with this Delightful Love Story read superbly by Mr. Vance. This story is filled with Bravery, Boldness & Modesty. I just love the Etiquette that was practiced in the Victorian Age, it makes one long for the days of olde. I feel that this story is just as Great as the Jane Austen Books. Loved it!

This was a great book narrated beautifully by Robin Miles. I loved every moment of this wonderfully written book. The interview of the authors at the end of the book was fabulous, we are told about the writing of the book as well as some interesting facts about the authors lives. This just made it even more wonderful and special. Thanks Audible for another great listen- well worth the credit ✭✭✭

Here is a new audio edition of the acclaimed BBC Radio 4 dramatisations of Anthony Trollope's gently satirical tales of provincial life, available together in one download. Nearly 20 hours of ironic, witty, and wonderfully written drama is contained in this audiobook. The cast includes Anna Massey, Alex Jennings, David Haig, Rosemary Leach, Kenneth Cranham, Emma Fielding, and Brenda Blethyn.

A Great listen, I throughly enjoyed listening to this book. All of the characters were distinctly individual. Loved the way all of the stories were smoothly intertwined. The romantic entanglements and life dramas were a listening pleasure. I will listen to this book again and again.
