Very interesting look at what goes on behind the walls of a women's prison. I suggest you read it for yourself and draw your own conclusions as to the author and the justice system. There is much to be learned!
This was a heartwarming, funny, poignant, well written story. I will more than likely read it again in the future The narrator was terrific and brought all the characters to life for me. If you're looking for a humorous, feel good book (as I was) this will not disappoint!
Frankly, I almost didn't choose this newest "Stone Barrington" book .The reviews were not encouraging and I didn't like the last book in the series. However, I took a chance on this one and I enjoyed it more than I anticipated. Lots of twists, turns and unexpected exciting bits that held my interest right to the end. Tony Roberts did a great job of bringing all the characters to life as usual! I still wish the author would skip the politics and tone down the sex scenes. But that's just this woman' s opinion. If you're a fan of the series I would recommend you try this one.
Don't hesitate to use your credit on this heartwarming story. You don't have to be a dog lover to enjoy this true story set in WW ll. You don't even have to be a member of that generation to find it worthwhile and enjoyable..I believe high school and college students would find it "a good read". An honest look at the reality of those difficult times. You'll laugh, you'll cry,and most of all you won't want it to end.
O.K. I'll be the "naysayer". The premise was not believable. If you enjoy reading about unremitting torture and the evils of religious cults, then maybe this book is for you. I'm not judging. I just can't believe all the reviewers and I read the same book! I regret I read this one based on the reviews.
Too many love starved women fighting over him. Dumb and dumber. The sex scenes were vulgar and unnecessary Way too much political yada yada.Overall a very dull read. I have read most of the Stone Barrington books but this one was ludicrous. The last one should have warned me not to pr-order. Never again. Even Tony Roberts couldn't save this lemon.
I took a chance on this selection. I thought three books for one credit would just be mediocre at best. I was wrong on all counts. All the books were well written ,and built up to exciting conclusions. Police methods, procedures and jargon were well researched and accurate. Read them in order. They will have more meaning. Len Cariou was an excellent narrator . My one complaint was the music. It was intrusive, off putting and unnecessary. However, don't let that stop you, the stories are still worth your credit.
Found the story distasteful, unpleasant and depressing. I should have known by the cover it wasn't my kind of reading.
It read like a book on two different subjects and I didn't find either one interesting.
The first story was almost tolerable were it not for narrator racing through it at too fast a rate. The stories seemed to run into each other and it became confusing. The reading became faster and faster and I finally gave up.
I didn't finish this book for two reasons. I think it should have been written by a professional writer and narrated by a professional. It was a horrific experience for Miss Dugard and I wish her publisher had given her some expert advise when it came to bringing the story to the readers.
