Caterer Goldy Bear's wedding day becomes a nightmare when her groom, homicide detective Tom Schulz, calls her from a murder scene and then vanishes. Her only clue to his disappearance is a cryptic note dropped at the scene of the crime. Its biblical references lead her to search for a Judas among her friends in the church congregation.

I have just discovered Diane Mott Davidson and I find her books very entertaining. I also like the Narrator and followed her through the Nevada Barr series.

With their 1994 international bestseller, Drs. Rick Brinkman and Rick Kirschner armed a civility-starved world with no-nonsense strategies for dealing with difficult people with tact and skill. Since then, the world has changed dramatically: technology designed to bring people closer together has only made it that much harder to avoid "people you can't stand." At best, such people can make life stressful and unpleasant. At worst, they can keep you from achieving important goals.

I like the story and overall I believe it is written well, but at least 3 to 4 times a chapter I hear, And Skye bit her lip. It must be bleeding by this time because she is biting her lip or cheek all the time. Other than that I am really enjoying the story and like the series. This is only the second one I have listened to, but I intend to buy more of them on Audible.

New York Times best-selling author Nevada Barr continues her award-winning Anna Pigeon series with this riveting mystery that features the puzzling plot twists, deft characterizations, and sparkling dialogue that have become Barr's trademarks, and which her ever-growing fan base can't get enough of.

Even though I enjoyed the book the images of the children was a bit hard for me to take. It is different when things are happening in the adult world but children and animals really bother me on a different level.
