Married people experience love most strongly through five love languages - quality time, words of encouragement, gifts, acts of service, and physical touch. With thoughtfulness and a gee-whiz tone that works well in all his audios, Gary Chapman aims his insights at men who want more from marriage, as well as those who have more to give. He's a humble teacher, describing the five languages with satisfying examples from his counseling practice and framing his ideas as suggestions.

If you could sum up The Five Love Languages in three words, what would they be?

Not only did the reader do a great job but the material was explained very well. I've had this book sitting in my house for around 16 years. I wish that I would have read it a long time ago. I'll be listening to this book a few more times.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Five Love Languages?

Every time he connected to my feelings of our twenty year marriage. I look forward to the next twenty plus years!

What does Gary Chapman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The expressions that his voiced carried would have been hard to get from the book.

What did you learn from The Five Love Languages that you would use in your daily life?

How to express love for other in ways that they will better appreciate.

    Any additional comments?

This book is on my top five list of non-fiction books.

  • Whole: Rethinking the Science of Nutrition

In The China Study, T. Colin Campbell revolutionized the way we think about our food with the evidence that a whole food, plant-based diet is the healthiest way to eat. Now, in Whole, he explains the science behind that evidence, the ways our current scientific paradigm ignores the fascinating complexity of the human body, and why, if we have such overwhelming evidence that everything we think we know about nutrition is wrong, our eating habits haven’t changed.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would change a lot of this book. While I agree with much of what is in this book I dislike all the kid like ranting and raving. It's no wonder the people that oppose his views treat him like a kid. I think reception of the ideas presented would be better received if delivered in a more professional manner with more facts and not blanket statements with half truths such as what he accuses others of doing.Overall I feel like it was a waste of my time.

Has Whole turned you off from other books in this genre?

No but I'll probably research the author better.

Could you see Whole being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Not one that I would watch.

    Any additional comments?

I thought the reader of the book did a great job. I'll certainly watch for other books with the same reader.

Not so very long ago, Eragon - Shadeslayer, Dragon Rider - was nothing more than a poor farm boy, and his dragon, Saphira, only a blue stone in the forest. Now the fate of an entire civilization rests on their shoulders. months of training and battle have brought victories and hope, but they have also brought heartbreaking loss. And still, the real battle lies ahead: they must confront Galbatorix. When they do, they will have to be strong enough to defeat him. And if they cannot, no one can.

If you could sum up Inheritance in three words, what would they be?

    Flat out awesome!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Inheritance?

What does Gerard Doyle bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Simply a fantastic performance. I'm going to look and see what other books Gerard Doyle has read. The variation of voices used is great. The emotion of the characters really came through. I know guys aren't suppose to have feelings but Mr Doyle will does a fine job of reminding you that they are there.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I think a film of this series with a decent budget would rival that of Lord of The Rings. Mr. Paolini deserves any and all the good results that come from this book. I know there was a movie done on this already but books relay a far better story. I think someone needs to take a swing at it.

    Any additional comments?

I'm watching for other books by this author. I plan to have my daughter read this series.
