Jane matters, too!
Jane is a survivor during a difficult time in America.
It is a little slow in places, but overall very interesting.
At under three hours, you have this little gem finished in one road trip.
Captain Abrashoff is inspiring and shares what works in leadership as well as what doesn't.
The entire story is inspiring and can be adapted across leadership positions of all sorts.
Probably not for a little while.
Kayser has a childlike voice; very appropriate for the character.
This story didn't make me feel anything. It is slow-moving and fairly anti-climactic.

The age of this story amazes me. One could make a 21st century movie of this and still capture the attention of audiences.
The introductions by Susan Sarandon help explain the set-up for listeners who may not be familiar with this style of writing. Very well done.
I would highly recommend any Alice Hoffman book. I became a fan after reading The Dovekeepers. Every book is different but all seem to have a haunting undertone.
