Why we think it’s a great listen: It is a truth universally acknowledged that anyone looking for a great listen won’t be able to resist Jane Austen’s delightful classic of love and manners in Regency England. Jane Austen's story of Mrs. Bennet's finding husbands for her daughters is told with wit and charm. A must for lovers of good literature. Commuters Library presents Pride and Prejudice read by Kate Reading.

I loved this book. It was well narrated and I am looking for more books read by this narrator. It's a classic.

By the time James Frey enters a drug and alcohol treatment facility, he has so thoroughly ravaged his body that the doctors are shocked he is still alive. Inside the clinic, he is surrounded by patients as troubled as he: a judge, a mobster, a former world-champion boxer, and a fragile former prostitute. To James, their friendship and advice seem stronger and truer than the clinic's droning dogma of How to Recover.

I found I got very annoyed with the way the author repeated certain lines over and over. And there is ALOT of swearing (which one should expect, I guess)almost too much. I felt you never really get inside the head of "James". If you are not the same type of person as he is, you don't understand how he really feels...or in some cases, can't feel.
It wasn't a bad book, but it wasn't great either.

"It was the best of times and the worst of times." In one of the most famous openings of any novel, Dickens masterfully presents the turmoil of the French Revolution, which is the backdrop for a novel of love, patience, hope, and self-sacrifice. This version is read by Anton Lesser, whose award-winning Dickens recordings in their abridged form has now resulted in the opportunity to read the full unabridged text.

I am new to the "classics" and as a high school drop out, I was worried I wouldn't "get it". I LOVED it! It is well narrated, and very interesting.
