    Story

I felt the characters were in love with each other so quickly, but then not only neither one of them hinted or verbalized liking the other person, their actions drove each other away even further. Can’t explain these two characters any other way but to say their love expressions were inhibited. They did not say what they felt and then to fix her errors quickly, the heroine acted a bit crazy trying to track the hero to tell him in person how she truly felt. I have mixed feelings about this book. I enjoyed reading it at the same time I saw so many faults with it. I know, I know. I sound retarded now, but I liked many moments especially some of her reader’s dating stories which made me laugh out loud. But then either of the main characters acted stupid or said something stupid that turned me off. If you purchase this book just expect it not to be a great read.

One woman embarks on the adventure of a lifetime when she meets a man with irrepressible passion and a penchant for peril Samantha Barrett is looking for a hero. He can’t be just any man, but one worthy of her girlish fantasies. Dashing. Dangerous. Forbidden. Exactly like the mesmerizingly handsome stranger who just strode into the smoky tavern. Except he isn’t a stranger, he’s Remington Worth, earl of Gresham. London’s most notorious rake.

Another great story. So very different than the first book, but that is what I liked about it. Different in that the heroine falls in love with the hero immediately as she sets eyes on him and is not shy to express it to him. She is also extremely innocent and open about her feelings and very trusting. I have honestly not read a book where the heroine so openly verbally praises the hero without any worries or insecurities. Refreshing to say the least.

The characters are also all very likable as in the first book and the story very engaging. Wish there were more characters to write another book about. :( since I have enjoyed these two books so much. Perhaps we can hope...

What a happy and engaging story. I enjoyed it so much that I finished the book in one day and purchased the next one even though I have four other purchased books to read. Even though times were so rigid I can completely see Alex's character fitting as it is written. The Duke is also such a complex character who is very strong, and yet soft and gentle for his heroine. I loved this book and ALL the characters in it. Though a serious story, there are some funny lines in the book that also made me laugh out loud. You will not be disappointed.

I doubt I can read anything else until I am done with all her books on Audible. Anita Mills develops her characters so fully that by the end of the book you are left pining for more.

One of those books you wish had a part two and three so that you can just keep reading. Again, as in her style, there is only one quick love scene and the end comes too abruptly I feel when you are not quite ready to let the story go yet.

I absolutely loved and enjoyed this book and am so grateful I have found her. Great writing, well developed characters, clear expression of passion and love without heavy sex and very well developed and thought out storyline. Purchase with confidence.

How do you rebuild your life when your one true love is the one who ruins it? Joanna Sherwood, the Countess of Carew, has always been wildly in love with Adrian Delacourt, the darkly handsome and devastatingly charming Duke of Roxbury. When they wed, it was her dream come true - a dream that quickly turned to a nightmare as her husband accused her of infidelity and sullied her good name in Regency society. It was only a desperate flight to Italy with her husband's best friend at her side and his promise to rescue her through a new marriage that saved her sanity.

This is my first book by Anita Mills and I am completely taken by her style of writing. There was only one sex scene in this book and even that was so quick I doubted if it actually happened. BUT it is not anything I missed really. The story expresses so much emotion already that I, as the reader, felt one with the characters and without knowing it. You can get swept away into this wonderful romance and open doors into another world and time. I truly enjoyed this book. A must have.

I purchased this book on sale and have had it in my library for a while until a few days ago when I finally decided to listen to it. I found the story fascinating. I'm not sure why the two reviews on Audible were poor but the Amazon reviewers seemed to really enjoy the book. Historically accurate to it's time and well developed characters were two strong points about this book. The love story also was very believable and I absolutely loved the giant hero's good and evil sides. He was far from perfect but that is what made him so real especially for his time. The only weak point to the story was, in my opinion, it's ending. Without giving it away, I was hoping for an even better ending. The entire story got built to the end and then I felt a bit let down. I guess I wanted more. More of the happily ever after and not a short two minute clean up session. Other than that I truly enjoyed this book.

Blessed - or perhaps cursed - with a fiery temper, a strong will, and a blatant disregard for his brother's wishes, Lord Andrew de Montforte's only desire is to be left alone. But after being caught in a compromising position with tempting Lady Celsiana Blake, the brilliant and brooding scientist/inventor is forced into marriage in this fast-paced, jocular tale in which a supporting cast of beloved pets, the warm and eccentric de Montforte brothers, and the Machiavellian influence of the mighty duke of Blackheath once again play a role...

I did enjoy this book and am glad that there are more and more books written about people that are not "perfect" by society standards. I love how the heroine defends and provides strong support for the hero but I guess it wouldn't be too much of a hardship when he is such a heart throb :). At the same time I found the story entertaining I also found it a bit silly. The premise of having an older brother who controlled their every move and ALWAYS having all the pieces to his plans fall right into place was just over stretching it a bit for me. There was more silliness but if I give examples, I would be giving the story away so I will leave it up to anyone still interested in reading the story to discover them for themselves. If you absolutely are looking for something good to read, then you won't go wrong with Laura Kinsale books. A much better way to spend your time my friend.

I have now read all books in the series except one and as much as I've liked all, this book was just something else. I love romance even when a bit cheesy and in so many HR books the love develops quickly but I guess that was what times demanded. This book was such a breath of fresh air that it took me completely by surprise. One of the few books I have EVER read where the hero is not at all interested in the heroine and the events in their journey and her character is what binds him to her and gives way for TRUE romance, passion and love and not those purely based on looks. Tessa Dare is also a very clever writer so her stories have many moments of true brilliance and even deep resonating laughter. This book was a truly wonderful find.

The Manor, the very place where their passionate love affair began, fills with guests on what should be the happiest day of Ava and Jesse's lives. She has accepted that she'll never tame the fierceness in Jesse - and she doesn't want to. Their love is profound, their connection powerful, but just when she thinks that she's finally gotten beneath his guarded exterior, more questions arise, leading Ava to believe that Jesse Ward may not be the man she thinks he is.

To be honest I did not enjoy the first book as much as the other two in the series because it reminded me too much of Fifty Shades in that both have a broken up male characters with money, looks and need to dominate the heroine. However, as the story continued in the second book, the difference became more and more clear. I liked the handsome hero who had no boundaries for himself and yet expected the heroine to follow all his rules. He continued to say "language" to her for the slightest curse word and yet he passed them along freely and as frequently as he wanted. If I were in a relationship with a man like this I am certain it would not last long but in this book his character is so endearing that you forgive him all. The heroine is frustrating in the sense that she gave in to him all the time, but then again, if she didn't the relationship could not have continued with his demanding forcefulness. I guess life is full of give and take but here is mostly give on her part.

The only other comment I can make is that I wish there was a bit more of the story and less sex. WOW. I can't believe I just said that. I LOVE sex in romance novels but it seemed to somehow displace the story in this book at times which should have been the main focus.

I very much enjoyed the narration. She did a fabulous job with all male and female characters and the right infliction where needed. Great job Edita Brychta.

Overall a very enjoyable book that makes you want MORE for yourself as well.....

Jesse Ward drowned her with his intensity and blindsided her with his passion, but he kept her away from his dark secrets and broken soul. Leaving him was the only way Ava O'Shea could survive. She should have known that Jesse Ward is impossible to escape - and now he's back in her life, determined to remind her of the sensual pleasures they had shared. Ava is equally determined to get at the truth beneath this man's steely exterior. That means letting herself get close to the Lord of the Manor once more.

Young interior designer Ava O'Shea has no idea what awaits her at the Manor. A run-of-the-mill consultation with a stodgy country gent seems likely, but what Ava finds instead is Jesse Ward - a devastatingly handsome, utterly confident, pleasure-seeking playboy who knows no boundaries. Ava doesn't want to be attracted to this man, and yet she can't control the overwhelming desire that he stirs in her. She knows that her heart will never survive him and her instinct is telling her to run, but Jesse is not willing to let her go. He wants her and is determined to have her.
