Jonah is a tattooed playboy of the UFL Fighting world who has no plans to settle for just one woman when he can have his continual pick..... that is until he sees the beautiful, innocent and sweet mechanic Raven who's about to change his mind.
This was a listen that I wanted to get back to time after time... Raven was a bit sickly sweet but that was the whole reason why Jonah fell for her because of her innocent ways and that she didn't care for material things.... so don't expect a strong heroine. Their chemistry was instant, so too was the romance but the sex was a little slower to develop but when it did it was sexy but it wasn't heavily over descriptive nor strong words to describe them.
I also liked this listen because they shared their secrets, worked together to overcome the villains and had a strong close romantic bond. There were some interesting secondary characters, humor, drama, a shocking twist and a nail-biting vicious kidnapping. Narration was good and there was no cliffhanger.
Worth a credit? This was a sweet, enjoyable, implausible 'instant' love story with a hot, sexy Fighter and his damsel in distress who had a heartbreaking past. Then, when that past caught up with her, she became a victim of a greedy cold infamous Vegas Pimp/Crime Boss and what followed was a roller coaster ride that the H/H had to endure before they finally got their HEA. Creditworthy and I'm looking forward to book 2 which is Fighter Blake's story.
Jessica and Sebastian's love story was about reincarnation, soul-mates, second chances and taking a chance on love..... despite the possibility of loss. Their story is romantic, funny, sexy and totally captivating as Jessica has to resort to some devilish tricks to break down Sebastian's resolve not to be mated. There's also a Church full of hateful humans and it's evil leader who is obsessed with ridding the world of mated Vampires a few at a time and he brings shocking discoveries, heartbreak and drama into Angel Knight's house and his band of brothers. So this listen also has suspense, danger, thrills and a couple of tragic deaths which was sad.
Danielle James has written another awesome listen that's more about the tight friendship between this family of Vampires than it is about them being Rock Stars and the emotional angst filled drama they each get into while trying to claim their mates. Multiple POV's but the focus was on Jessica and Sebastian but the loveable secondary characters added to this listen and so too did the Narrator.
Worth a credit? As long as DJ continues to write these imaginative, intriguing and intense stories then I'll keep buying them. So YES another winner that was worth the credit?
Answer me this, if you had no family and lived alone in the mountains then one morning you came across a beautiful shimmering gleaming golden space ship that seemed alive would you stroke it and talk to it..... Hell no. And then you saw an injured handsome human looking Alien lying injured in the grass would you help him, bathe him and have sex with him within a day..... mmmm probably not. And, within a few frustrating, tense and drama filled days where you found out he could shift into a Dragon, would you fall hopelessly in love with him, bond with him and leave Earth to go to his planet..... well now that's a difficult one because he was handsome, hung and hot.
But that's exactly what Abby did when she rescued Zoran, King of Valdier, and fell hard for his personality, his protectiveness, his thoughtfulness, his vulnerability and his sexual prowess in the bedroom, the kitchen, the fields, the spaceship.... well you get the drift. Yes it's all implausible but it all adds up to a very enjoyable listen that somehow draws you in because once they land on Valdier there are dangerous enemies lying in wait ready to attack..... and the attack has deadly consequences. Abby needs to adjust to her new feelings and life and is helped by the other women that have been snatched along with her.... but nothing could prepare her for the biggest change of all..... wings, scales, claws, a tail and a fire breathing snout.
Instant lust, out of this world chemistry, a host of likeable secondary characters, some hot sex scenes, drama, angst and humorous moments all adds up to a very entertaining and captivating Alien abduction romance. Told from many character's POV's but mainly Abby and Zoran's and the narrator did a good job.
Worth a credit? It was a quick to develop romance but it was tender and had heart, there were eye-rolling parts but they were easily outweighed by the sweet, juicy, tense and surprising parts and the story is just getting started as Zoran's brothers are all very interested in the other women and there's still an enemy plotting against them. This story held my attention all the way through, despite the 'as ifs', it's a Science FICTION romance and if you enjoy them then I'm sure you too will find it a creditworthy purchase.
You really get a feel for this small town in Maine and it's quirky inhabitants, monthly weird and wonderful Festivals and the total lack of eligible men. Then there's the feisty and funny bartender Saffron who's had to resort to online dating with funny and disastrous encounters. Scottish handsome Logan has been coming into the bar for six months, he's mysterious, he's been watching Saffron and he talks to other people but not her - even though she carries on talking to him and baiting him to speak to her with one-way conversations, jokes and her life's anecdotes. That is until there's a food fight down Main Street during the Swordfish Festival which finally breaks his resolve..... and from then on it's a tender beautiful love story.
There's fun, drama, angst, life threats, secrets, mystery, danger, heartbreak, great secondary characters and Logan and Saffron a loveable couple who fall deeply in love..... but sadly it's a doomed relationship from the start. As well as that, there is a very poignant tragic sad love story between her Father figure of a friend who is over 90 and that storyline is threaded throughout the main story. Told from Saffron's POV with some funny internal thoughts by her and it's really well narrated by Cris Dukehart who easily managed all the various different accents called for.
Worth a credit? Oh YEAH it definitely would have been but it was a bargain at under $10 and so I saved my credit for a higher priced listen but one that may not be as well-written, entertaining, amusing and as enjoyable as this was.
Welcome to an all new Cage Fighter series and it certainly kicks off with a very entertaining first book that throws a lot into a good storyline. Drop dead gorgeous Cole needs a miracle and that's just what he gets when he's sent to rehab with the beautiful Physio Katie but it wasn't just his broken body that she eventually healed, it was his whole way of life..... but it came at a very high price.
The listen starts off well describing Cole's victory and tragic downfall, attraction and chemistry are then added to the mix which ups the listen, Katie's broken spirit, terrible past, mental and physical scars are soon revealed and, by this time, you're hooked into a good listen with likeable characters. Then the ever increasing looming danger in the present slowly slips in created by her mad, bad and scary ex which mixes things up, added to that are the inner turmoils of "should I say I love you", then a secret is overheard which leads to broken trust, drama, heartache and pain. This leaves you with a listen that has a tender romance as a physically broken Cole tries to heal a mentally broken Katie and vice versa, there's some sweet/tender and also a frantic sex scene and it concludes in a pulse-pounding confrontation of tears, bloodshed, death and heartache. But thankfully the Epilogue will leave you with a smile on your face.
Worth a credit? Dual POV's, good narration, a bit of unrealistic healing time but hey ho this is fiction after all right!, nevertheless a very captivating story and YES it would've been worth a credit but my under $10 rule applied so I just bought it saving the credit for a pricier but maybe not as enjoyable listen. So, an entertaining and enjoyable listen at a bargain price.
This is a very very complex, intense, edge of your seat, unpredictable dark thriller/chiller that has many many twists and layers upon layers of intrigue as well as a bitter-sweet romance running through it. I can't and won't even try to begin to describe it except to say it's a mixed up 'brain freeze' of a story that'll hook you in as you try to sift through clues to get to what is and isn't real and you just won't see the surprising WTF, WTHH.... AH-HA & OH, NOW I GET IT of an ending coming..... and it'll blow your mind.
Worth a credit? Told from heroine's POV, a very good narrator and a slow revealing mixed-up plot that was addictive, insane and incredible with romance and sex too. It would definitely be worth a credit but at a bargain price of $7.34 I just bought it saving a credit for a more costly listen. But not for any 'true to life' lover as this is fiction.... imaginary, glorious, undiluted and well written fiction.
This is not quite your ordinary Rock Band romance where each band member slowly finds the love of his life..... no this is going to be a much longer story focusing on one couple that'll stretch into many books so there's a CLIFFHANGER to this first listen of Jack and Leila's love story. None of them have made it big yet so there's no egos and when the talented and very nervous Leila auditions for Back-up for the band Devil's Lair there's instant attraction and off the charts chemistry between sex on a stick lead singer Jack and Leila. But this has a very sweet and slow build-up to the romance as they both try to resist the pull.
In this slice of their story you get the foundation stone to everything.... their backgrounds, all the many characters involved, Jack's initial 'no strings' sex policy and encounters, Leila's current band, their families and, coupled with that, there's the ever growing attraction they feel for each other. As the Chapters flew by and they hadn't yet left to go on tour I started to have my doubts that this was going to be a complete story and then there was a couple of OMG revelations at the end leading to tears, fears, heartbreak and sure enough..... a to be continued storyline.
But what an awesome story it was, it was so well described that I could picture each scene, the character's and personalities were also so well described that you felt you knew and liked everyone, the slow building romance was well paced and when they couldn't keep their hands off each other any longer then there was plenty of 'lovin' too. Dual POV's and no problems with the narrator.
Worth a credit? It was a great romance where you really feel the love between two loveable down to earth people, sweet tender feelings and loving words and a good base to build the ongoing story. IMO, very very creditworthy but now I'm left on the hook of Devil's Lair and desperate for the continuation because I just feel it's going to be an epic ride.
I really didn't think I was going to like this listen when it started but the more it progressed the more it drew me in. First I hated who Stanton had become but when the news came about the wedding and his first love I saw a different side to him. He was so caught up in the past that he couldn't see what was right in front of him.... the love of Sofia and it took a kiss and a tornado before he finally realised what he had.... but he was one night too late.
Sofia was a strong and independent woman who wanted to change the 'friends with benefits' status of their relationship because she was in love with Stanton but all Stanton could think about was stopping the wedding and, in the end, it all proved too much for her.
I liked the character growth, the close family unit, the funny high and mellow brother, the romance and the fact that they didn't rush into each other's arms in the end..... she made him work for it. There was a bit of angst and drama but it was mainly an easygoing contemporary listen that had a bit of heat and plenty of romance.... misguided and otherwise.
Dual POV's and dual narration - Jason Carpenter's narration was great especially Stanton's Mississippi drawl but Charlotte Penfield's accent for Stanton was non-existant and I would rather he narrated the whole book.
Worth a credit? A plot that started out a bit shakey but ended up as a heartwarming nostalgic, romantic, sexy and a very enjoyable listen. YES creditworthy.
As Cassie and Ethan's bittersweet tragic and beautiful love story continues we get to see the vulnerable loving side to Ethan as he tries to make Cassie understand that he is finally fixed. But Cassie is reluctant, having been there twice before, but with sweet words and the giving over of his Journals that contain all his thoughts and fears when they were together, Cassie slowly, cautiously and hopefully starts to believe that he has truly changed.
It's beautiful, it's heartbreaking and it's an all consuming (but it must be listened to after Bad Romeo). There's the revealing flashbacks and inevitable breakup but the Author clearly tells the story of a lost damaged boy too afraid to love and would rather lose that love than damage it further. Then your brought back to the present day and the dilemma Cassie has whether to trust her head or her heart...... in the end there was no choice.
Worth a credit? Told from Cassie's POV, good narration, not too detailed sex scenes..... just a powerful, unforgettable and breathtaking romance. Definitely YES it's worth a credit.
Flynn and Natalie's love story finally comes to an end in this very erotic and beautiful listen that is virtually a very detailed and explicit A-Z guide on BDSM as Flynn slowly introduces the very cautious but willing Natalie to his sexual world..... and toys.
But underneath this is a couple who deeply love each other and are willing to change for each other in order to stay together. Flynn shows Natalie that she's his world and Natalie fights her past demons to join his world. Their character growth comes from the deep love they have for each other and, as the 'Honeymoon' period of their marriage slowly trickles away, they are left with a strong unbreakable bond that's been forged from pain, heartache, tears, tenderness and unconditional love.
Worth a credit? Dual POV's, wish there were further books about some of the secondary characters, it was well narrated and it was a very romantic, loving and scorching fires of Hell hot story...... so what's not to love? And YES a creditworthy listen. Marie Force is a very gifted author who must have spent a long time researching for this book which has been noted and was gratefully appreciated.
Ooops, I've accidentally skipped book 2 which is a problem I'll soon be putting right because these awesome books draw you into a world where Vampires, Werewolves, Fae.... and now another paranormal creature all openly co-habit the world of the Humans. But even more it's the brotherly love you feel between this crazy band of five Vampires/Rock Stars who all happily live under one roof like one big family together with a couple of mates and one sweet little girl.
Leigh had a big big secret and she was running from someone so she didn't do friends or relationships and every couple of years she moved towns but she was being stalked by a determined love sick Vampire that was sure she was his mate. But little did Rebel, that love sick Vampire, know that he was about to bring danger, drama, death, destruction and despair on his family by claiming the one woman that was meant for him.
A non-stop nail-biting, edge of your seat thrilling listen by a talented author whose world-building skills made you easily envisage each scene and each character as all the drama and romance plays out. There's a feisty kick-ass Heroine whose angry snappy dialogue soon turns into one of sighs of contentment and moans of delight when she gets a sight of her naked Hero (and who can blame her). Good narration from multiple POV's but mainly the H/H's.
Worth a credit! This is an Author who likes to play with your emotions and boy does she succeed in this pulse-pounding story and she writes a great paranormal romance bursting with love and exciting action.... so YES very creditworthy.
