This is all you can hope for when spending your credit on a book - it's got a great plot written by a very talented author, it's got interesting believable characters that will have you envisioning them riding through the Highlands or walking in Medieval castles, it's got a handsome powerful hero and a strong proud heroine that bring you in to share in their trials and tribulations and finally, it's got a love story that defies prejudices, betrayals and discriminations to win out against all odds for the happy ending that we all seek.
Can't wait for the next instalment, the series has such great potential and M.B. is an automatic download for me.
Worth a credit? Worth every cent and more, much much more.
As this started I really didn't think I was going to like it as the sexy Navy Seal Hero Maverick was an arrogant ass... ok he had good reasons as he was gorgeous, fit, had an eight pack and dimples but his personality sucked. He was arrogant, crude, had a really bad attitude towards women and was a real man-whore with all willing female partners. That is until the down-to-earth feisty Heroine Windsor didn't fall for his many charms and so his challenge began.
But, Maverick's caring side soon came out as Windsor's kind nature slowly made him rethink his game, thankfully he underwent great character growth and they both came from troubled families so they had a lot in common apart from their sizzling attraction for each other. However, Windsor's denial of her true feeling was going to have a devastating impact on so many lives.
This book packed so much in, there was the roller-coaster of emotions that the entertaining romance between Maverick and Windsor stirred up, passion and plenty of sex scenes, some likeable secondary characters, secrets, a shocking and tear jerking OMG fatality, twists, suspense and plenty of heartache as well as some really romantic moments. In the end, love and time played their part enabling Maverick to overcome his demons so he and Windsor could get their much deserved HEA ending.
Worth a credit? I really enjoyed this listen so it's a YES and if there's a continuation into a full on series then they'll be an auto buy for me. Narration was good too.
What a great start to a whole new Vampire world where they, and Werewolves, walk freely amongst us humans. New myths, cultures, lores, creatures and amazing characters are slowly unfolded as the story and romance nicely progresses.
Handsome, sexy, drool-worthy Angel, ahhh, Angel he's a Rock God and, along with his fellow Band members, are all Vampires but there's no groupies or darkness they all just seem pretty normal (with a few quirks) and he is also California's Clan Leader over the Vampires. Brea is a feisty when angry redheaded Waitress who fears the paranormals but when she's about to take Angel's order one night and their eyes lock it's the start of something life altering for both of them. Delicious scenes unfold as Angel proves his weakness for Brea.
Great romance, sex, an evil villain or two who want Angel's job, a Vampire serial murderer, thrills, intrigue, suspense, fights, funny bits and some interesting, loveable and amusing secondary characters all get tossed into this enjoyable listen. Narrator's voice for Angel's character was just so sexy.
Worth a credit? I thought I had become a bit tired of Vampire romances..... but, after this, I was very wrong so DJ please keep em coming and YES creditworthy and a 'lighter' side to Vamps.
This is a light, fairly fluffy Contemporary romance about 6 Billionaires who have formed a Secret Society to help in their business ventures and to meet to play Poker. However, the single members are now dwindling and this story is about the 4th Billionaire to eventually give in to love's pull.
Griffin is a snobby jerk who is treated like a King and is a member of royalty back in his home country and that's where he's headed but he needs a temporary Assistant. Maylee is a no-nonsence down-to-earth hillbilly type and, at first Griffin hates everything about her. But slowly, as he gets to know her…. well you know what's gonna happen and the simmering attraction finally (and eventually) led to a few sex scenes and a romance. Narration was slow and I didn't like Griffin's upper crust accent.
Worth a credit? This is the first one of the series that I couldn't connect to the characters or believe in their romance. Yes it was funny and Maylee was likeable but Griffin's character growth never happened until near the end and the sex was blah so for those reasons I would have to say not worth my credit but if you're in the mood for a Contemporary, fun, unbelievable plot, or if you're following the series, then go for it. They could all be stand-alone listens.
After JEM's This Man trilogy I thought we'd seen the best of her imaginative, emotion filled, erotic and twisted love stories but this, phew, this was a very highly charged ride through the attraction and passion of two mentally tortured people's lives and the people who surround them. And, as their lives both inevitably entwine, the listener is gifted with troubled waters of secrets, insecurities, drama, obsession, heartache, more secrets, revelations, suspense and lots and lots of intrigue.
No words can describe just how emotional this book is as it's flawed characters are loveable in their own way and very needy of each other but the many twists that fate deals them can result in only one thing..... DEVASTATION. And that's how I felt at the end of the raw bitter cliffhanger, an open mouthed shocked gasp as yet another twist was oh so cleverly tossed in.
Worth the credit? I am writing this Review knowing I'm going to be late for a shopping trip with a friend but I just had to get my words and feelings out about this listen whose character's lives has only let me get about 2 hours sleep because I didn't want to stop the intense mystery with a destination unknown, damaged characters and a deep unhealthy, yet compelling, love story. I would have gladly used two credits on this listen, so YES very creditworthy and, if book 2 is out in print, I'm even considering READING, yes actually reading it, because the storyline and characters are just that gripping. If you get this listen be prepared to become a Malpas groupie and what a great team she, and Edita Brychta made.
What I was expecting was a MC badass biker gang, hot sex, old ladies, patches and some hot Alpha type guys. However, what I got was mainly a Murder/Mystery with a Hero who had once formed an easy going innocent Biker Club (now disbanded) with friends when they were all much younger. Now he's sure one of those friends had just been murdered.
Vince is a tattooed, sexy, drool-worthy hard-ass Alpha type who's been in trouble before, he's got a dirty mind and a mouth to match it and he's got quick and snappy dialogue too and when he sees Kim he knows he wants her in the worst (or best) way. He denied the romance but was all in for the desire and sex but it was interwoven with the main plot line of murders, cover-ups, mystery, suspense, with paranormal visions, a few hot sex scenes, some interesting secondary characters and eventually the I love you's happened but I just didn't feel any romance.
Narrator had a very gravelly voice like he'd smoked 40 a day so his female voices suffered for it.
Worth a credit? This had a bit too much murder/mystery to the plot than I personally like and the plot line doesn't conclude but will continue in further books but I don't think I'll be following this series, not because it's not good, but because it just doesn't 'fit' with my own personal romantic taste.
A listen that instantly drew me into all the characters lives but especially the relationship between the confident and feisty Hayley and the handsome self-made Billionaire Daniel as their mutual attraction flares and ignites into a love affair that starts off funny but rocky, has an all consuming middle but ends up sad and rocky again.
There's drama as Daniel has a frustrating Jekyll and Hyde personality, heartache, not very graphic sex scenes (unfortunately!!) and witty banter between all the characters but the main plot is the courtship of Hayley by Daniel. The sexual need for each other is always there from the start but Hayley has to match, or overcome, Daniel's wit, temper and quick mind for their relationship to work.
Worth a credit? Once I started listening I was hooked in this couple's nicely developing relationship which was intense, funny, sweet, emotional and tender but was left on an expected frustrating cliffhanger ending. Narration was good, it was very enjoyable and definitely worth the credit.
It's not often that I can't finish a book but.... I suddenly thought "what am I doing listening to this crap when there's so many good books out there waiting to be heard" and I just didn't want to waste any more of my time on it. The sound effects were intermittent and distracting, Gabriel Storm's voice was more like Prince Charles and not a sexy young handsome guy (as per the cover) and his character was just awful. The writing was very weak i.e. his Father had a 'brain' stroke - well is there any other type! So I skipped to the last chapter to see how it ends and what do you know.... it's a CLIFFHANGER - well sorry but I don't care what happens and won't be getting book 2.
Worth a credit? No, not in this lifetime and even if it was free I wouldn't want it so sadly I'll be asking for my credit back on this one.
It's always very hard to say goodbye to various loveable characters whose lives have entertained you by day, by night and into the wee small hours of early dawn but the Heart Of Stone trilogy captured me in it's intricate web until the very last word had been spoken.
KM Scott threw everything into this book… thrills, chills, danger, romance, passion, sex, lots of heartache, twists, surprises, suspense and character growth. Even the Epilogue wasn't safe as there was a twist to that too. Brilliant.
Narrators added to the story too.
Worth a credit? If you haven't already discovered this trilogy about an arrogant, handsome, sexy, rich Billionaire called Tristan and Nina the strong, but gentle, woman who saved him then you lucky people are able to go from one book to another without having that terrible, and annoying, gap in the whole flow of the story. Worth the credit…. Hell YEAH every one of them.
It didn't end up that way as Manny gave Rose more than just a helping hand.... hope for a future. Great character development, powerful chemistry, loveable H/H, likeable additional cast of characters, humor, a slow building love story, some angst and plenty of sexy times makes this a must have addition to The Lonely Kings series.
Worth a credit? Yes definitely and I'm eagerly looking forward to who's next to find love after the shocking Epilogue.
I've just gone through about 9 hours of tension, heartbreak and drama followed by about 15 minutes of joy...... and I wouldn't change a thing because this was a well-written, tough, raw, touching and very emotional love story that morphs into one of grief and suffering that loss brings, followed by hope, forgiveness and finally redemption.
It's not the usual 'feel good' romance but a bitter-sweet one as it continually takes you backwards 6 years slowly feeding you bits of the history of young forbidden love and the devastating consequences that followed then forward to the heartache of a present day relationship where one lover can only offer sex as his shattered heart has no more to give and the other lover hangs on because she want it all.
Worth a credit? If you're in the mood for a totally different kind of love story.... one that will wring out so many different emotions from you like hope, happiness, grief, pain and anguish and back again, and then finally gives you a HEA ending, then this book is for you. Creditworthy only if you're ready for a torturous, but beautiful, ride.
