When you finish one of MB's KGI books you really feel like you've been through an emotional roller-coaster and come off spinning, exhausted but exhilarated - only to happily find out that you've got another one ready and waiting for you to eagerly hop onto for another wild ride.
This series has everything a romance lover wants and by the bucketful - a great mind blowing emotional plot, hunky alpha men ready to battle and even die for their love, an interesting cast of secondary characters, nerve racking tension, likeable heroines, passion, sex and a talented narrator who breathes life into each character and emotion into every event. You're so drawn into each of the Kelly brothers and their plight that you too feel the disappointments, anger and anguish as things go wrong but you also share in their joy when things go right.
They just keep getting better, this has been my favourite so far but I'm sure I'm going to be saying that about the next one which is thankfully loaded up and ready to play.
Worth a credit? Oh errr let me think about that? Well, that would not only be a YES, but a HELL YES - and maybe the question should be 'worth losing a night's sleep over?' and the answer to that question would again be YES.
It's such a shame that these books aren't longer as I really enjoy a good Sci-Fi romance and this one doesn't disappoint. As handsome Arathian Ambassador Rex finally organizes the dying Maggie to be transported aboard their Science Spaceship to give her an ultimatum.... life with them or death, little does he know just how her decision was going to change his life too.
Great characters who get involved in saving Maggie, saving an aeroplane full of people who were, unfortunately for them, in the wrong place at the wrong time and also saving some already rescued Earthers from enemies within their own Group. It's action packed with a nicely developing romance which eventually leads to passion, sex as another Arathian finds his mate. Not as hot as book 1.
Dual POV's, great narration and the story involves Ty, Lacy and Kor (from book 1) too so we get all the latest about the pregnancy..... and the much anticipated and celebrated birth.
Worth a credit? The more I listen to these stories the more I become sucked into the outcome for these loving, tender and caring aliens. Don't let the length put you off as there's a lot packed into these listens which are, IMHO, well worth a credit.
I really enjoyed this Sci-Fi romance, yes at only being 4.36 hrs long (or short?), it did suffer from the lack of some in-depth details but for the most part it was a very easy flowing erotic listen. Lacy has been kidnapped from Earth and forced into an unbelievable new galaxy containing all things weird and terrifying but, as she stood on the Alien auction block waiting for her fate to be determined as food or slave, in walks her salvation..... two gorgeous huge green eyed Warriors.
Kor, the very Alpha Captain of the Adastra spaceship, and it's Medical Officer/Scientist (and his mate) Ty have been on an endless mission spanning years to try to find the genetic answers that'll save their dying out species the Arathians and are investigating the planet Vox when a fevered commotion draws them in. One look at the beautiful, frightened and vulnerable Lacy is all it took for their instant lust and protective natures to kick in and they knew they had to save her and have her (in all ways).... but they didn't realise that she was going to be the answer to their prayers as well as the Arathian's salvation.
This listen caught my attention from the start and kept my interest - it had drama, action, tender loving M/M sex scenes (but not full sex) with passionate and hot M/F/M love making as Kor and Ty both eagerly welcomed their new mate. Then some shocking but happy news resulted in drama, tension and a battle in the skies to the death ensued as the committee of the Galactic Alliance of the Planets, and it's multi-species politics, decided on the fate of Earth. And this will, no doubt, continue in book 2 which I'm happily and eagerly about to start listening to.
Worth a credit? Great narration, triple POV's and a loving and very sexy ménage made this, for me, a creditworthy listen and there was good world and character building descriptions but because of it's shortness, it sadly just couldn't cover everything. So a longer, more in-depth start to this series would have been better but hey it is what it is..... an enjoyable erotic dip into an alternative Universe and thankfully book 2 is a little longer.
It may be short but boy does it pack a lot in.... loveable characters who get caught up in a strong plot that's got a sexy, handsome and roguish Fae Prince called Breslyn who breaks the rules and risks all because he lusts and loves Chartelle a beautiful but married mortal. This captivating story is based in Scotland in the year 1314 when Robert The Bruce was fighting against the English and Breslyn thought this was a worthy cause so got caught up in the action.... but his main love was Chartelle his first love.
Plenty of adventure, intrigue, magic, mayhem lust, sex, passion and a love story that spanned decades as loveable, loyal, tender and sweet Breslyn left the Fae realm to be by Chartelle's side and support her and her family because there's nowhere else he'd rather be. There's a secondary romance between her Druid brother and a woman with secrets.
Great narration, dual POV's and a sad ending but one that leaves you desperate to hear more from the Memoirs of the oh so charming Prince Breslyn, to find out what tale he will share with us and what Fate had in store for him next.
Worth a credit? It's under $5 so no just buy it.
Great new paranormal world with awesome characters, very likeable hero and heroine..... well who doesn't drool over a big all over!, muscled, kick-ass, handsome, pantie ripping, protective and sexy Alpha vampire Warrior. And he has the hots for a feisty, strong and stands for no sh*t Social Worker who really does truly care about the kids she's responsible for.... so a match made in Heaven right?..... sadly not quite.
Damon and Nicole are instantly attracted to each other and they don't fight it which leads to some sexy scenes but what Damon is fighting is his mating instincts because of something that happened in his past. A very interesting, fast paced plot involving greed, the selling of vampire kid's blood, revenge and, of course, the romance and passion between one stubborn vampire and a human woman that's not going to stand for all his bull.
Nice dynamics between the Warriors who are all sexy and 'built', there's fun and humor, witty dialogue, interesting likeable secondary characters, a well described plot, lust sex love and the narrator did a great job in bringing it all to life.
Worth a credit? I can never get enough of good Vampire series and The Protectors is off to a fangtastic start.... so YES a creditworthy addition to any PNR lover's library.
I love a good MC listen but unfortunately this only had brief references of the Club and very short visits - the main characters live together in a house..... no badass bikers around. 24 yr old Heroine with an over protective brother returns home after eight years away, she has always lusted over Hero, mutual chemistry, forbidden sex for two weeks (which is hot) and an ex boyfriend stalker causes havoc and mayhem.
But I didn't feel the passion, the romance or the togetherness, no "I love you's" or tender words and a blah letdown of a rushed ending. I think also my problems was the narrator's voice for the Hero which sadly just didn't 'do it for me' but the rest of the characters were ok - told from dual POV's.
Worth a credit? It was a passable listen but regrettably also forgettable.... just because the author mentions bikes, old ladies, biker clothes and tattoos doesn't make it a MC book, so IMHO, not creditworthy but yes get it when it's on sale.
Despite the hot cover and the Publisher's Summary this listen was bad in all sorts of ways..... far too much inner dialogue, the sex talk just wasn't nice, unlikeable hero, mild heroine and the sex scenes weren't at all sexy or erotic. The Fight Club was only referred to because they met there and he was either going to or coming from it and the 'mystery stalker' was mentioned in a few chapters and dealt with in a few paragraphs..... so, a little mystery but no suspense.
Told from dual POV's but what made it far worse was the boring, monotonous and unemotional narration.
Worth a credit? I'm ever an optimist so I kept trudging my way through (eventually on double speed) hoping it got better.... but it never did. There's far better books in this genre out there so, IMHO, pass on this one - uh uh nope, not worth a credit or even buying while on sale.
Well Lindsay Pryor did it again, she kept me up til the wee small hours with this totally gripping and nail-biting second visit into the dark, dangerous and seedy world of Blackthorn to join the Vampires, Weres and other supernaturals who are all forced to live there. And that is where the innocent yet strong Leila, from the safe streets of Summerton, has been forced to venture into to save, not only her sister, but a dreaded Vampire too and that is where she met her worst nightmare..... and her heart's desire.
Handsome, sexy, Alpha Vampire Caleb is a successful Nightclub owner but he has a very dark past filled with torture, pain, unspeakable acts and degrigation.... done to him and eagerly done to others by him. Beneath his stunning good looks he is clever, ruthless, arrogant, very manipulative and an unpredictable bastard and he has just found out that Leila is more than a mere Witch, she's a Serryn and, as told in the Prophecy, one who must die at his hands..... for him and for the Vampire world.
This very well-written and described exciting story has so many twists, shocks and surprises as they both agonize over decisions that must be made.... life and death decisions that fate has thrown at them and unfortunately only one of them can survive. Tense and action-packed with passion, lust and sex but there's also a lot of turmoil and heartbreak too and a very clever 'pull your hair out' and scream "WHAT?" of a CLIFFHANGER because in this emotional book love just may not be enough.
Very well narrated by Anne Flosnik and told from both the H/H POV's with a few other character's thoughts too but the bulk of the story was between Caleb and Leila - their thoughts, words, actions and deeds.
Worth a credit? A PNR lover's dream book, very creditworthy and I've already pre-ordered book 3 which is an impressive and daunting 29 hr listen and, as much as I love Christmas, I can't wait for Dec 30th when it'll finally be released.
What a great ending to this unusual and very addictive Paranormal series and, if you've already listened to books 1 and 2, then you know just what a super supernatural treat is in store for you. WB has his evil plans and, with the help of Dracula, they're all successfully being carried out and he means to get World domination. So beautiful Immortal kick-ass Shapeshifter Roxie has joined the fight against him and is sent to enlist the help of a born-Hybrid Highlander but when she meets him he is much much more - he's a Scottish hunk..... all muscle, handsome, sexy and lust-on-legs with an accent to die for (enough! I'm drooling here).
Chase, a Billionaire recluse, wants to be left alone, society no longer interests him and he has his own history with Dracula and anyway he is going to get revenge his way but when Roxie came a knocking his sensuous Wolf side is instantly vera vera interested however his Vampire instincts makes him vera vera cautious and his Human side is just intrigued. But when they touch there's fireworks.....sparks, sizzles and zings and their wolves suddenly want out to play.... and much more. However, after not revealing the truth until it was too late, trust is going to be a BIG issue between these two and whilst making plans and battling evil they will also be battling their lust, their love, each other and the mating bond.
A 'can't stop listen' as their relationship is fun, frustrating, sensuous and sexy and it all plays out whilst the story unfolds..... magic, an 'other dimension' Wizard who makes wards and potions, Deadly Moon and previous characters are back, hush hush plans are made, there's a secret meeting with Dracula and when long-held secrets are finally revealed then, yes only then, let the battle commence.
Dual POV's, lots of different characters and emotions were all skilfully achieved by Valerie Gilbert which made a good book even better.
Worth a credit? An enjoyable and entertaining finale (for now) to the Shadow Vampire series which had great characters, action, intrigue, a loveable H & H, was romantic, sexy, exciting, amusing and all three in the series were very creditworthy.
These Corps Security guys are all hot, sexy, tattooed Alpha types and Cage had the added advantage of 'below the waist' piercings too. He's a good friend, loyal and protective and all this, and much much more, comes out when he meets Melissa because their chemistry turns straight into lust.... quickly followed by passion and lots of sex. They both have tragedy in their pasts which brings them closer together but Cage kept secrets and guilt that he should've shared with Melissa from the start which nearly blew them apart.
It was a great story with heartache from the past, heartache and murder in the present, a mad and bitter ex, entertaining secondary characters, there was humor, a sweet 3 yr old boy and two strong and sensible main characters who loved, supported and understood each other. However, there was angst and suspense too and Cage had to put in a call for help from his old MC buddy who dealt with the situation his way!
My only negative was the ending which I found a bit choppy with a Bonus Chapter that I think should have been put in the last few chapters. Then there's a Deleted Scene and finally the Epilogue. It was a bit weird but it didn't spoil the listen at all.
Dual POV's and both narrators did a great job with the all the characters and the many emotions called for.
Worth a credit? This is a series that I'll gladly listen to until it ends...... so YUP, IMHO, Harper Sloan is a very creditworthy author.
Reno, a Brother from the Weston Pack, is a strong no-nonsense gritty Shifter, he's seen Wars, been a Bounty Hunter and now a PI but his Wolf is restless..... until the sizzling chemistry that's stirred up when he meets a kind, haunted, timid and accident prone Human April. April's got a good job but she's living in an unsavoury Trailer Park that she inherited from her Grandma but she left her a whole heap of debt too to Loan Sharks and her life's about to be turned upside down and get a whole lot worst.
There's lots of drama, danger, life threats and angst as well as plenty of interaction with the other members of the Weston Pack made up of both Shifters and Humans. But there's instant attraction, passion and hot sex when Reno and April's relationship heats up. April doesn't realize there's a secret Paranormal world out there made up of Shifters, Vampires, Mages and more and she's about to find out.
Sounds good right? But the whimsy whiney and wimpy voice of April's got on my nerves as well as her inferiority complex and some stupid actions. On top of this I really didn't feel the romance until the end because Reno was such an Alpha "do it my way" male.
Dual POV's and the narrator didn't have a problem covering all the many characters that inhabit this new world of Shifters.
Worth a credit? It was enjoyable, entertaining and had some interesting secondary characters and an insight into the other brothers but it wasn't as good as book 1. However, if you intend to follow this series as I maybe will (depending on the next book) then be happy that you spent the credit to get a bit more info from this new mixed Pack.
