"They say even the most damned man can be forgiven. I never believed that until the night Astrid opened her door to me and made this feral beast want to be human again. Made me want to love and be loved. But how can an ex-slave whose soul is owned by a Greek goddess ever dream of touching, let alone holding, a fiery star?"

This is my favorite book in the series!!!!!! Zarek just breaks my heart.... and is so sexy at the same time! Fred Berman does a great job on this book. His voice is amazing and the character portrayal is perfect!!! He is my favorite narator so far with Holter Graham a very close second. This book is a MUST read as are all of Sherrilyn Kenyon's books.

Zev Hunter was an elite warrior, a dark-blood dealer of death to rogue Lycans who preyed on mankind. He was a loner, never given to personal attachments, and damned fierce at his job. But Zev begins to question his past and his purpose when he awakens in the darkness of the sacred cave of warriors - and is soothed back to consciousness by the sensuously familiar voice of one woman, the woman who has haunted his fantasies for centuries. She was Branislava, member of the Dragonseeker clan.

Way too much ceremony, procedure and nonsense speak......it's missing the story and character development this time. When they speak "carpathian" which obviously you can't understand and it goes on and on..... Too much. I really love this author and will read her other books in hopes this was just a miss and not a series that has gone too long. I just didn't care about the characters or what happened next. Really sad to write this review but it is what it is..... Plus, I like a strong male but these guys are getting boarderline Taliban.... Hope the next is better!!

As the Alpha of New York, Trey placed the needs of his pack above everything - until the mate he's waited centuries for waltzed into his life and gave him a taste of what he'd been missing. Sadie, seductive, beautiful, and utterly captivating, is also something shifters avoid at all costs - a vampire. Stunned to learn of her nature, Trey turned his back on the only woman who could complete him. Now, realizing he's thrown away the one thing he can't live without, Trey hunts Sadie down and defies tradition.

The first two books were pretty good and you could "like" the characters. In this book they are constantly and I do mean constantly, rude, hostile and fowl. They are supposed to be a pack but they curse each other out every time they speak. For instance telling each other to "shut the f*** up", "I'll kick your f****** a**!" is a regular part of every conversation. I'm by no means a prude and have been known to let the f bomb fly on occasion but it seem like the author has gone out of her way to quote the fowlest sayings possible. Some language is necessary in the story but this is ridiculous. Even the woman are brash and rude, telling the males to "balls up". I just can't like these characters and don't really care what happens to them. I'm about 3/4 into the story and I am done. The only thing that I really like about this story is the narrator, she does a terrific job.

After turning his back on the throne for centuries, Wrath, son of Wrath, finally assumed his father's mantle - with the help of his beloved mate. But the crown sets heavily on his head. As the war with the Lessening Society rages on, and the threat from the Band of Bastards truly hits home, he is forced to make choices that put everything - and everyone - at risk. Beth Randall thought she knew what she was getting into when she mated the last pure blooded vampire on the planet: An easy ride was not it.

I love the BDB books and this is one of the best! Many different mini plots going on but all were easy to follow and engaging. For those listeners who said they couldn't keep up with all that was going on, I say listen to it again or pay better attention. I was completely engaged with every characters and every plot. All of the characters were in previous books so you should be familiar with them. It sure opened up the door for future books and I personally can't wait until their written. Just one word of advise, don't listen to the last part of the book in a public place. I was getting my nails done and had to shut the book off because it was making me cry, I just didn't need everyone to think I had lost my mind. I'm not normally an emotional person but this book was THAT good!!!! Keep up the great work J.R.!!!

In an underground club, a high-ranking public official spends his secret nights indulging in fantasies as exciting as they are depraved. For a seductive employee of the Dungeon, it's her job to fulfill them. But she's playing a far more dangerous game - one of blackmail, politics, and murder that reaches into the shadow world of the Ghostwalkers, and the creation of a spectacular, one-of-a-kind new weapon of defense. But when a dictator makes his own catastrophic moves, the Ghostwalkers have no choice but to bring in two major players - a man and woman both driven by passion and revenge.

Love Christine Feehan, love the series but this book didn't do it for me. I just couldn't get into the story or the characters. I have really like Sam in the other books but he seemed like a different person in this one?????? And, Thorn... yes thats what I'm calling her was just annoying. Calling Sam, "Sammy" and fluttering her eye lashes, really who does that? Not a kick butt heroin that's for sure. Also while the narrator has a beautifuly rich and deep voice he was NOT meant to do a female. His voice is beautiful and sexy for a man but his ladies sound breathy and "dumb" kind of Marilyn Monroe sings Happy Birthday Mr President (sorry I can't think of a better was to describe it). I'm looking forward to the next book in the series because I KNOW Christine Feehan can not strike out twice. She is an amazing author and I will continue to read her books.

Someone at McMillan should send Sherrilyn flowers to apologize for the slaughter!!!!
