What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

    Different narrator.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The hero's story was the most interesting aspect. I wanted to find out his story. The heroine was not interesting at all.

How could the performance have been better?

Getting a narrator with a sultry voice would have helped this performance a lot.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The story is ok. It deserves to be read at least once.

    Any additional comments?

TSTL heroines get on my nerves. I have a hard time getting through books where the heroines are too stupid to live.

Would you ever listen to anything by Veronica Roth again?

Nope. She blew it. First and last time I get snookered into buying anything from this author. I want my money back.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Husband Trap to be better than the print version?

    Yes. The narrator was wonderful.

What other book might you compare The Husband Trap to and why?

The Johanna Lindsey Mallory family novels. All the characters that matter to the story are well developed.

Which character – as performed by Bianca Amato – was your favorite?

Violet. I could identify with her predicament. I could feel her pain make my chest tight around my heart.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes.

    Any additional comments?

I really loved the characters. I loved the story. I loved the narrator most of all. I didn't know what I would get since this is my first experience with this author. I will definitely look for more audiobooks by her as well as look up more books read by this narrator.

When unworldly student Anastasia Steele first encountered the driven and dazzling young entrepreneur Christian Grey it sparked a sensual affair that changed both of their lives irrevocably. Now, Ana and Christian have it all - love, passion, intimacy, wealth, and a world of possibilities for their future. But Ana knows that loving her Fifty Shades will not be easy.

Would you try another book from E. L. James and/or Becca Battoe?

Nope. Neither one of these ladies appeals to me.

Would you recommend Fifty Shades Freed to your friends? Why or why not?

I told my friends to wait for the movie. This might be one of those cases where the movie is actually better than the book.

Would you be willing to try another one of Becca Battoe’s performances?

    Nope.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Fifty Shades Freed?

    The scenes were fine.

    Any additional comments?

I liked Christian's story. This three book saga would have been better if told from the hero's perspective or third person narration. Choosing to narrate the story through a first person account of the most annoying character in the book made it harder to get through the story.

What disappointed you about Fifty Shades of Grey?

They picked an awful narrator. The author needed a thesaurus. There were too many "oh my" and "he's hot" to the point where even I got aggravated. He's hot. I get it. I got it the first five times.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Fifty Shades of Grey?

When he decided to take care of her virginity problem.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Becca Battoe?

Nina Dobrev or someone with a not nasal voice.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Annoyance, mostly. I wanted to see the story to the end but found it painful to listen. A better narrator would have helped this story so much.

    Any additional comments?

I like the idea behind the story. I like reading sappy romance novels. But I don't care for TSTL heroines. I read all three books. I think they deserve to be read at least once. I like the hero's story. I didn't care for the heroine. I tried hearing the first story again and found I just couldn't do it. Maybe I'll wait a few years and try it again.
