Determined to leave her old life behind, retired assassin Leine Basso accepts a job working security at one of television's most popular reality shows, Serial Date. When a contestant is found dead in the prop closet, it appears the killer is one of the 'bachelors' on the show - an ex-con billed as a serial killer - but the detective in charge of the case isn't so sure. When Leine's estranged daughter is abducted by a man claiming to be the real killer, she's forced to rely on old skills to find her, and must come to terms with who she really is.

What made the experience of listening to Serial Date the most enjoyable?

The audio quality was very high, and the fast paced story was suspenseful and satirical at the same time.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Absolutely. The combination of action, personal stakes, and just the right amount of romantic interest really held my attention. I loved the sardonic humor.

What about James Killavey’s performance did you like?

The narrator enunciated very clearly, his voice was moderated well and his expressiveness was entertaining but not distracting.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I almost looked forward to my 40 minute commute!

    Any additional comments?

I can't wait for the next audio book by DV Berkom!

Would you consider the audio edition of Bad Traffick to be better than the print version?

I enjoyed both versions of Bad Traffic, but I really enjoyed this narrator.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Bad Traffick?

When the Sponge Bob rescues Mara from the streets.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I loved the scene when Leine and Santa's eyes met across the street. I also really loved Miles, the wacky movie star, in all his scenes.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Leine Basso must track down a missing 12 year old girl before the sex-traffickers get to her. Hampered by a feckless movie idol, his would-be sister, and her forbidden obsession with homicide detective Santiago Jensen, Leine faces challenges she had never imagined.

Along with two other passengers, Kate is kidnapped by a long-lost enemy who wants to settle an old score. Kate's vacation turns into non-stop action when Anaya's gunmen board the cruise ship and she finds herself on a jet ski surrounded by sharks, kidnapped, held captive, staked down over patch of fast growing bamboo, and drugged in a Voodoo ceremony.

What made the experience of listening to Cruising for Death the most enjoyable?

I really liked the reader, she captured the wry humor and down to earth nature of Kate, the heroine. I enjoyed the setting, on a cruise ship and Caribbean island. The synergy between Kate and Cole moved things along.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Kate, of course. She is bold, courageous, resourceful, but also human.

What about Melissa Moran’s performance did you like?

She is a very lively reader who really gets her characters right. She obviously appreciates the humor in the book. She does a good job with male and female characters alike.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

A pleasure cruise turns into a nightmare.

    Any additional comments?

I look forward to the other Kate Jones audio books.
