Robert Louis Stevenson's cherished, unforgettable adventure magically captures the thrill of a sea voyage and a treasure hunt through the eyes of its teenage protagonist, Jim Hawkins. Crossing the Atlantic in search of the buried cache, Jim and the ship's crew must brave the elements and a mutinous charge led by the quintessentially ruthless pirate Long John Silver. Brilliantly conceived and splendidly executed, it is a novel that has seized the imagination of generations of adults and children alike.

    "Great Classic - Excellent Audiobook"
    Overall

This great classic is a must have for any home library. The audiobook recording does justice to the original manuscript and is well told with masterful storytelling. One of my favorite audiobooks.

This historical romance, perhaps the greatest cloak-and-sword story ever, relates the adventures of four fictional swashbuckling heroes who served the French kings Louis XIII and Louis XIV. When the dashing young D'Artagnon arrives in Paris from Gascony, he becomes embroiled in three duels with the Three Musketeers: Athos, Porthos, and Aramis. But when he proves himself by fighting not against, but with, the Three Musketeers, they form a quick and lasting friendship.

    "Classic doesn't necessarily mean perfect."
    Overall

This intriguing tale is full of rich characters and clever dialogue of the times. Unfortunately, it is also of the time before there were professional editors. This tomb would have made a better short story. A fact made more even more obvious after 21 hours of audio. The reader does a very good job but its length exceeded my interest on more than one occasion.

Pulitzer Prize-winning author Robert Olen Butler tells a magical and humorous contemporary fable that captures the state of humanity at the cusp of a new millennium - as seen through the uniquely sensitive perspective of an empathetic extraterrestrial. An audible.com audio exclusive!

"A little of this goes a long way"
    Overall

Arte Johnson does a great job reading this book that has some interesting ideas but runs far too long. Descriptions of descriptions do little to add value to what should have been an excellent short story.
