Dexter Morgan is not your average serial killer. He enjoys his day job as a blood spatter analyst for the Miami Police Department... but he lives for his nighttime hobby of hunting other killers. Dexter is therefore not pleased to discover that someone is shadowing him, observing him, and copying his methods. Dexter is not one to tolerate displeasure... in fact, he has a knack for extricating himself from trouble in his own pleasurable way.

The plot was SO thin and the story dragged on and on and on. I actually fast forwarded through a lot of it (a first for me & I listen to A LOT of audio books).. and didn't miss a single thing.

The author did a horrible job writing it and then he completely butchered the reading. I do believe this was the poorest narration on an audio book that I've ever heard.

There is nothing good about this book. Not one thing.

Peter V. Brett has won accolades from critics, fans and fellow authors alike for this riveting debut novel. The Warded Man features a world where demons stalk the night, hunting humans who have long forgotten the magic of their ancestors. But all is not lost, as some hold out hope that a savior will release humanity from the demons' terrifying reign.

It was a little slow in the beginning. I almost gave up after the first hour and a half, but I'm so glad I didn't. The author creates a really detailed alternate world. Even better, the story sticks with all the "rules" that the author created. Sometimes in fantasy novels, authors go out of their way to describe their universes and excruciating detail, only to write something completely contrary to the alternate reality they spent so much time describing. This wasn't the case here. I liked the premise of the book very much. The author has a brilliant imagination. The narrator was really good, especially with the female voices: No annoying falsettos.

    Story

I decided to get this because it was 1 of the 3 in the banner on the homepage of Audible. It seemed like it would be a suspenseful story with good characters. The plot was weak and it just never picked up. The main character is gullible beyond belief and with the exception of Lync and Willa, the characters are not anyone I would ever want to be around, much less socialize with. They are all shallow and the 2 women (Tanzy & Kit) were just plain mean. From their interactions, it seemed impossible to believe that they'd remained friends for so long. The narrator that did the voice for Tanzy was SO ANNOYING. She talked entirely too slow, putting odd emphasis on certain words, where no emphasis was necessary. Sentences that weren't questions ended as though they were. I suffered through the chapters she read. The other 2 narrators were good, but, again, the plot was just weak. The ending left me feeling a bit cheated. There were many loose ends, not enough to warrant a sequel, but enough to make me feel that the book ended entirely too abruptly. It was also a very anti-climactic ending. There was so much build up and then it just fell flat. I would not recommend this book.

The year was 2014. We had cured cancer. We had beat the common cold. But in doing so we created something new, something terrible that no one could stop. The infection spread, virus blocks taking over bodies and minds with one, unstoppable command: FEED.

It took me a long time to finish. It was so boring, I had no desire to listen... but curiosity kept me coming back. To me, this was a book about blogging, setting up servers and internet security (firewalls, etc). The plot was very thin. There was very little zombie action. I don't think it should be classified as a zombie book. Hardcore zombie fans will definitely be disappointed. The narration was good, but the story left a lot to be desired.

I wish I had expanded the reviews rather than rely on the first few that were shown. It is one of the worst books I've ever listened to. The narrator is excellent, but the story is pretty awful. There was NOTHING scary about this book. The story was painfully slow to unfold. When the people finally got to the haunted house, I kept waiting for the scary stuff to begin. It never did. There were literally no scary parts of this book. I finished it out of curiosity. I had to know why so many people loved this audiobook. The characters are irritating and silly.

In this epic, beautifully written masterwork, Pulitzer Prize–winning author Isabel Wilkerson chronicles one of the great untold stories of American history: the decades-long migration of black citizens who fled the South for northern and western cities in search of a better life. From 1915 to 1970, this exodus of almost six million people changed the face of America. Wilkerson interviewed more than a thousand people, and gained access to previously untapped data and official records, to write this definitive and vividly dramatic account of how these American journeys unfolded, altering our cities, our country, and ourselves.

This book brought tears to my eyes more than once. It is so well written and the narration is flawless. I actually selected this book after doing a search for books narrated by Robin Miles: She is EXCELLENT.

I learned so much while listening to this book. It's filled with so much social, political and economic US history that most Americans don't know about. I paused several times to take notes. A lot of it was difficult to listen to because it was so very sad, but there was no graphic violence for violence sake.

I recommended this book to any and everyone. You will not be disappointed.

This was a long book, but it didn't seem that way. The time just flew by. I was a little sad when it ended. There were a lot of characters, but I never got confused about who was who because each character had a life of his/her own.

The little history lessons were a nice touch. I can tell that a lot of research went into this book. I especially enjoyed how the lives of the fictional characters intertwined with real life historical figures and real life celebrities.

I came across this book after listening to Robin Miles read "Half of a Yellow Sun" by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. She did such a brilliant job reading that, I looked for more books read by her. She really brought this wonderful story to life. Her voice is pure magic!

A prison doctor injects a condemned serial killer with a formula designed to keep his consciousness awake while his body rots in the grave. But all drugs have unforeseen side-effects. Before he can be buried, the killer wakes up. Hungry. Infected. Contagious. This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang… but a bite.

I REALLY enjoyed this book. The story took off right away and the action never stopped.
I especially like the way the author takes us through the step by step beginnings of the zombie plague. The concept behind how the plague begins was really quite clever. The characters were really well thought out, if not sometimes a little cliche (but I didn't mind that so much). If you like graphic, action packed, gory, fast paced zombie stories, this book will not disappoint. I enjoyed the narrator a lot. I became a fan of his from his reading of Replay, so when I saw that he was reading this book, I was immediately sold.
