I found my mind wandering lots during this tale - very unusual for me. The story really lacked any depth to the characters - made the whole thing almost silly. Sorry - but can't recommend it.

    "Good but not Great"
    Overall

I loved the first book, really liked the second but the third is anticlimatic. I enjoyed it and would recommend it for everyone that loved the first. It's still a good read, just not what I expected.

Six million years ago, at the very dawn of the starfaring era, Abigail Gentian fractured herself into a thousand male and female clones: the shatterlings. Sent out into the galaxy, these shatterlings have stood aloof as they document the rise and fall of countless human empires. They meet every 200,000 years to exchange news and memories of their travels with their siblings.

The story was very long and difficult to follow. I hung with it expecting a shattering revelation of some type but that never occurred either. So, very long and nothing really great.

From the opening I was entranced. This is a fantastic story; rich and engrossing. The narrator was a perfect choice. Simply put - don't miss this for a sweet, poignant story that will stay with you.

    "Truly a must-read"

This book was a great read. From the beginning the character was believable and earned my sympathy - a contradiction to the expected response to a personal prison that is part of the "host." Incredible book

Personal vendettas, hidden treasure, and a monkey named Carl will send bounty hunter Stephanie Plum on her most explosive adventure yet. Dom Rizzi robbed a bank, stashed the money, and did the time. His family couldn't be more proud. He always was the smart one. Joe Morelli, Dom Rizzi, and Dom's sister, Loretta, are cousins. Morelli is a cop, Rizzi robs banks, and Loretta is a single mother waiting tables at the firehouse. The all-American family.

    Patricia says: "Laughed out loud..."
    "Disappointed"
    Overall

I love the Stephanie Plum series but Fearless Fourteen was a disappointment. Stephanie plods along chasing a mild drama. Ranger is out of character and without substantance to the "plot." Only Lula seems in character but even she was unable to add any true flavor to redeem the book for me. A big disappointment.

The body of an elderly woman is found dismembered in a Virginia landfill. Scarpetta initially believes the clues mirror that of a serial killer she's tracked before. But upon further investigation, she discovers puzzling pox-like erruptions on the woman's body that, perhaps, point in another direction.

Joanna says: "Interesting Story Ruined by Narrator"
    "Stilted Narration"
    Overall

While the story was exciting and full with deep characters the narration by C.J. Critt was stilted, awkward and distracting. Very un-enjoyable.
