A best-selling author of books for adults and children, Mark Childress pens his most outrageous work yet with Georgia Bottoms. The titular heroine is the epitome of the church-going Southern belle, except for one teeny-tiny aspect of her life. Georgia’s family inheritance has long since evaporated, and to maintain her genteel lifestyle, Miss Bottoms has taken six affluent lovers—the fly in the ointment being that one is a married preacher who’s about to reveal their infidelity to the whole congregation.

What would have made Georgia Bottoms better?

I read to escape. This book could not do that at all. It wasn't funny, wasn't romantic, what the HECK was its point?! And to leave it off driving into that city with what we KNOW happened? Really?? What a waste of a credit and my time.

What could Mark Childress have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

    everything and anything.

    Which scene was your favorite?

    NONE. Period. NOTHING.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

I was just disgusted at the waste of my time.

    Any additional comments?

Don't buy it. Trust me. I seriously doubt the rating system of audible after seeing it got a 3.7. I wonder if they even will publish this review...

Dana Birch vowed never to put herself at the mercy of a powerful man. She became a deputy so that she could take care of herself, and protect those she loved. Especially her best friends, the Titan sisters. Twenty years ago, Garth Duncan swore revenge on Jed Titan for abandoning Garth and his mother. Now he's back to fulfill that promise, even if Jed's daughters get caught in the crosshairs. All that stands between him and his goal is Dana, her gun, and a growing passion that can't be denied.

I had a lot of trouble hearing what the heck the narrator was saying - her voice would dip (esp for the men's voices) so I would have to crank up the volume, then other parts were too loud. By the end of the book I was irritated. They should have stuck with the other lady.
