No words can describe the feelings that I felt when I listened this audio book of Watch Over Me- Marieve Herington’s voice was so sensual- so understanding and so youthful.
Watch Over Me is a heartbreaking story of a young teenager that lost her mother during her prime teenage life, while dealing with death of her mother- her father turning into an alcoholic that didn’t give two cents about how Addison Snow feels. Grieving in his own way turning to the bottle, Addison didn’t know how to deal with the loss of her mother, attempting suicide because life couldn’t go on without the giddiness of her mother.
Addison has taken over the family bakery- her mother’s 2nd love, where she meets Zander Reinhardt. Something so familiar about him has her being drawn to him. She couldn’t place why she was so comfortable with Zander, second guessing if she was worthy of Zander’s love. She was broken. Both having secrets that neither want to share with each other, Addison wasn’t sure if he was ready for him to carry her grief, and Zander only wanted to love Addison without giving any more heartbreak to her. There are some twist and turns in the story, and you are left guessing through out wondering what Zander’s secret is. Even thou this is a sad story, you get the happy in the end.
Watch Over Me is very polar opposite of Tara’s writing, and you wonder if you could take this book and ever look at Tara the same- like two different people wrote these books. You will love it, you feel what Addison feels, you almost feel the story being more personal than what it was. As a young person losing her hero, her mother , it takes you on an emotional roller coaster that you may not know existed, and the narrator makes you feel like it’s happening in real life, that it’s a story that you once lived.
I listened to this audiobook- and 1st wanted to comment that the narrator did a very good job portraying both Monica and Trey.
Monica Remy is a ultra liberal/pro-woman. Now this is prob my first story that was about politics, and as I prob wont read another politic book again, this was still a great book. It had important issues such as rape/fraternity's/morning after-pills, and dealing with emotional side of being raped.
Monica Remy transfers from one college to the next because facing her accuser wasn't what she wanted to do, she wanted to start her life over, and still finish her degree. She so happens to move in the same apartment is the Illinois governor's son Trey Chapman. Even thou Trey Chapman is the governors son, he still has the same beliefs as his dad's which goes all against Monica's liberal views.
Most of the beginning of the book has them bantering about there political views, but they quickly develop a chemistry. What I do enjoy about the book as when comes the sex part, she completed a role reverse. Where the woman is the experienced one while Trey was the virgin. I was JUMPING for joy when things did pick up the pace, I was cheering for Monica when it does happen...
“He kissed me with a fire like no other, as if he were afraid breaking the kiss would break us.”
The ending was a little rushed, but I was glad that she was able to face her accuser and everyone else that was that was involved. Trey was truly her Only Exception.
Magan is fantastic writer, and it shows when she puts the details and flows her words together, this is the 2nd book I've read of hers and will continue to read the rest of the series.
I couldn't wait to listen to this one.. The male narrator grabs your attention right away and he was perfect for Shane 'Bax' Baxter
Bax has been recently let out of jail after being out away for the past 5 year, knowing he was set up by his best friend.. He needed to find him, except what he found was his sister! Dovie is a lost broken girl from the Point and there was something about Bax that kept her wanting more of him even thou Bax warned her he was nothing but trouble, the alpha male tattooed up with a tattoo on his face he was trouble.
But in the end there is more than a bad boy- a man that will protect you until the end, you wonder what going to happen to Bax and Dovie- Jay Crownover def went outside the box on this story, nothing like the Marked Men Series, and If you like the suspense this is for you! This audio was highly addicting, the voices were more than perfect for the characters!!!!
"You don't need anyone to show you how to be good, you're so much better when you're bad."
" Some boys...they are just better when they're bad. Bax is one of them and I'm starting to think my brother might be one of them, too. I just have to be good enough for all of us to balance it out."
“She was the epitome of everything good that came from bad people and a bad place.”
This is the 3rd installment of the A Wild One’s Novel by M.Leighton. This author is prob one of my favorites around, and she surely knows how to write sexy hot alpha males that dominate the woman in the stories. But they aren’t jerks, they are by far a dream come true. With this 3rd installment she didn’t disappoint. I recently read some negative reviews, but I don’t get how that could happen, but in my case, I listened to the audiobook of this one which makes these Wild One Novels 100x’s better. The narrator is Amy McFadden, and again she is by far one of my favorite narrators, therefore you feel every character from start to finish. The other co-narrator Nick Podehl is just as good, and does very well working with Amy.
In this third installment, this story is about Jet and Violet. Violet is a very conscious, fully aware of her surroundings of people that have a weakness for help. Hence she’s a case worker. She takes care of everyone including her BFF and her father. While helping her friend out and attended a SAA meeting (Sex Addiction) she meets the bad boy rocker Jet. What a place to meet your next someone! They both go into this story with lies, even thou we know Violets right off the bat, its Jet’s that leaves you in anticipation of what he’s hiding from Violet. Even thou Jet is not very shy on proclaiming he wants Violet, Violet fights every step of it.
“Don’t you understand, Jet? You were my weakness. You are my weakness.”
Once they finally take trip to New Orleans, and Jet shows Violet a good time. However, was it a mistake? After she confesses her lies, she thought what on earth could happen to them now, the lies have been revealed but Jet holds the one secret that must be told, and he has to earn her trust once again..
“You are the beautiful notes in every song I sing. You are the beautiful face behind every lyric I write. You are my reason, my muse. You’re the love I was waiting for, the one thing I can’t live without.”
This book was good, not the best of M.Leightons but it was good enough for a 5 star, you get the suspense, sex and the HEA all wrapped up in one.
I had to stop quarter way thru- I read this book already- and it was super awesome- but the narration was really bad- the narrator was yelling thru out the whole audiobook- did not like. Its a poor reflection on Kendalls book which again was awesome!!!
HOLY FREAKING FUNNY!!! OK, SO I PRE-ORDERED THIS AUDIOBOOK BECAUSE AFTER LISTENING TO SEDUCTIONS AN SNACKS I NEW THIS HAD TO BE JUST AS FUNNY. EXCEPT- THIS ONE WAS WAYYYYY FUNNY! AMY MCFADDEN WAS THE BEST NARRATOR FOR THIS BOOK- SHE PICKED UP EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER IN THIS BOOK- BEYOND MY EXPECTATIONS.
KENNEDY O'BRIEN IS A EX WAR VETERAN, HER BEST FRIENDS AND HER STARTED THERE OWN COMPANY- FOOL ME ONCE INVESTIGATIONS AFTER FINDING HER "HUSBAND" MESSING AROUND ON HER - YA KNOW WITH CHLOE WITH AN E! WELL NOW WORKING WITH HER FATHER AT HIS BAIL BONDSMAN COMPANY- PART TIME SHES ASSIGNED TO A CASE - MCFADDEN- SIMPLE GUY SHE NEEDED TO BRING IN. HER DAD NEEDED SOME HELP- SO HE THOUGHT- AND THATS WHEN SHE FINDS OUT HE HIRED GD- GRIFFIN CRAWFORD- HER EX-HUSBANDS BEST FRIEND- HER EX-FRIEND..
*WIPES SWEAT FROM BROW* GRIFFIN.. WOW I WISH THAT I COULD HAVE ONE OF THOSE IN MY LIFE!- HE'S ALL SORTS OF SEXY- AND IT ALL STARTED BY HIM PULLING UP IN ON A MOTORCYCLE. REALLY... COULDN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT.
A BET WAS PLACED- WHO COULD GET MCFADDEN FIRST. WOULD IT BE GRIFFIN OR KENNEDY? WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU LOOSE? WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU WIN?.. MOST OF THIS STORY MADE ME OPEN MOUTH LAUGH- AND ESPECIALLY WITH A NARRATOR LIKE AMY MCFADDEN- MADE THIS AUDIOBOOK 10x MORE FUNNIER!
SO BASICALLY TO SUM UP THIS SUPER FUNNY BOOK- DID I ENJOY IT? YES- BY FAR ONE MY FAVS ON AUDIOBOOK,-WAS THIS AUDIO LONG? NOPE ONLY LITTLE OVER 3 HOURS- WAS THERE A PLOT? YES- FROM START TO FINISH WITH A KISS ASS DOG INVOLVED- EVEN A HUNGRY FATHER THAT ENJOYED BEING A SILVER FOX- GOTTA LISTEN!!!...
THE COMEDY WASN'T FORCED- IT CAME WITH THE BOOK- IT WASN'T OVERLY DONE- IT WAS DONE PERFECT- A PERFECT AFTERNOON LISTEN OR WHILE YOUR WORKING -BUT BE CAREFUL- PUT SOME HEAD PHONES ON- THE SWEARING IS UNLIMITED- BUT DAMN IT WAS FUNNY!!
Well what can I say about Trouble ?? It was alright- so-so, could have been better, didn't get attention right away. I was really looking forward to this book- and I waited for it to come on audio- and when it came I was so excited!!!-
The book was done in a Duel POV from Mia Monroe and Jordan Matthews ~ which that usually grabs my interest right away, because having both point of views makes a whole story come together.
Lets just face it- right from the start Mia Monroe really got dealt a shitty hand- abused by her father- and now abused by her current boyfriend. We aren't talking about verbal- we are talking out verbal, physically. The poor girl has been broken down- and she gets that mill-a-second to escape her boyfriend..... She finds out during the process her mother didn't die, but she did leave her. She left her with the monster of a father. Having a ton of money from her deceased fathers death since he was a doctor, Mia fled from Forbes her boyfriend after giving him a big kick to his junk...
Mia decides to head to Colorado to find her mother- and find out why she left her with Oliver her dad. At this point this is were she meets Jordan Matthews, the guy that luvs them and leaves them- never a 2 night kinda guy.... but when he sets his gorgeous eyes on Mia Monroe he knew he had to have her. Something about her is different.
This book takes you on a wild ride- about 75% into the book- is when I was like OMG thats his......... This has got to be good!.. You must read this to understand what I'm talking about.
The narrators on the book are Tatiana Sokolov and Sean Crisden- At first I didn't know if I liked the narrators- but once I understood the characters, there voice flowed. Trouble is everything what the title is. Mia Asher is all full of Trouble and you def feel for this poor innocent girl.
Jordan is everything good. He's the optimity of hotness, and understanding.
Mia is a broken soul that finds her way back-
THE BOOK STARTS OFF BY GIVING YOU A SHORT SNIPIT OF TWO TEENAGERS GROWING UP TOGETHER BEING THE BEST OF FRIENDS AND GROWING INTO A STRONG TEENAGE ROMANCE. THEY KNEW EVERYTHING- AND ONE THING THEY DID KNOW THAT THEY WOULD GROW OLD TOGETHER, JUST AS SOON AS THEY GRADUATED FROM HIGH SCHOOL. THE MAIN CHARACTERS ARE KYLE AND NELL. THEY LOVE EACH OTHER SO MUCH THAT YOU ARE PAINED WHEN THEIR WEEKEND GETAWAY TURNED FATAL.. WE KNOW THAT KYLE DIES, AND THAT'S JUST THE SYNOPSIS AND THE BEGINNING. WHAT HAPPENS THE REST OF THE STORY MAKES YOU CRY,CRY,CRY!!!!! I'M NOT HERE TO SUGAR COAT THINGS, THIS BOOK SUCKS!! NOT BAD SUCKS, BUT DON'T READ IT WHILE YOUR PMS'ING BECAUSE THE UGLY CRY WILL BE UGLIER!
ALL NELL KNEW WAS KYLE. WHEN COLTON CALLOWAY (KYLE'S BROTHER) RETURNS TO MOURN THE DEATH OF HIS BROTHER, HE JUST KNEW THERE WAS SOMETHING ABOUT NELL THAT HE NEEDED AND WANTED. COLTON WASN'T THE SAME AS HIS BROTHER- HE WAS THE SMOKING BAD BOY. HE WAS OLDER.AND DEF OFF-LIMITS. BUT HE MAY BE THE ONLY THING THAT SAVES HER LIFE AND HER SANITY.
THIS BOOK WAS VERY EMOTIONAL, YOU WENT THRU THE STAGES OF GRIEF, ANGER AND HAPPINESS. THE AUDIO MADE IT SO MUCH REALER. IT WAS DONE BY A MALE AND FEMALE NARRATOR, AND YOU GOT THE FEELING THAT THEY FELT SO MUCH WHEN IT WAS BEING NARRATED.
I received this audiobook from the author, and I'm glad I did. This was the second book of AL Jackson that I read, and I'll tell you she didn't disappoint with book 1 of this series. Take This Regret audiobook was a very pleasant listen-this was the first time I listened to Andi Arndt narrate and she did a good job- she has a very unique voice that is soft but not annoying and its got a soft tone- she gave you all the emotion both Elizabeth and Christian felt.
Elizabeth and Christian were loves- college loves. Elizabeth gets pregnant and Christian who is the son of a powerful attorney decides that he didn't want a child so soon in his life- therefore Elizabeth is on her own. Flash forward 5-6 years- and we have a perfect story. I'm not hear summerize what the book is about, I'm hear to tell you how I felt. How the audiobook was.. Not tell you recap of the book- you need to read it.
Elizabeth a strong single mom- and even thou she made me mad at some points during the story, she still put her child first- at all cause. She was determined to keep her safe.
Christian- well he was an ass.. right from the beginning- but you get to know who he is, and proves to Elizabeth that he made a mistake. You finally love him towards the end, and wonder if this happened in real life, would you be so understanding?.. I'm not sure if I would have been so understanding, but time heals, and second chances happen.
This audiobook, grasps your attention quickly, well at least did for me. Andi has a great tone, constant flow, and is a season narrator.
Over all, great HEA book- if you reading it on paper its a quick read- but on audio its about 9 hours and 25 minutes-
GA!!! What can I say about The Unidentified Redhead!- Other than this is the same author that wrote Wallbanger- What the hell do you think I think about it!! It was freaking hysterical!!!
The narrator on this book was unreal- she really got into the character and she made me get sucked in. I don’t think without her attitude towards everything this book wouldn't have been as good! So Bravo girl!
The Unidentified Redhead is funny, whitty, sexy and romantic, this book takes you on the hottest scenes, and It wasn’t drawn out. Alice Clayton makes you love both Jack the sexy Brit and Grace the 30’s something Diva. Well not really Grace was anything but, she was just dried up wanna be actress in her 30’s – why would a famous Hollywood actor that is yeah in his mid 20’s wanna hook up with her?!!... As a women in my 30’s Im not sure I would hook up with a 20 something but the way Jack Hamilton whoooo’s you- you fall madly in love with him!!
A friendly bantering of friendship between Sheridan and Hamilton brings weeks worth of fun- without sex- after long friendship building and little self confidence in Grace- both Jack and Grace bring sparks that literally ignite the earbuds. Grace is offered a job in NY, that means she has to leave her new house she bought- and Hamilton ... Jack!- Will their love be strong enough to hold over 3000 miles away? ..
Grace is defiantly Neurotic, and crazy- but that is what makes this book so freaking awesome. I wouldn't change anything --- about this book- I can’t wait to start listening to the rest of the Redhead series.
Kelli Lefkovitz is the narrator on this series- and I'm telling you - I would def listen to more of her stuff- she has a funny whitty voice that captures your attention in a romantic comedy. The narrator didnt change her voice for the female/male parts- I was okay with that considering with how fun the book was it didn't bother me. Jack has a british voice, but she didnt use it - but something about it sounded made me already know he had a British voice- I think it would have been to much if there was.
Well what can I say, I love Jasinda Wilder, and to have a chance listen to yet another audiobook of hers I was excited. I didn’t read the synopsis on this one , I jumped head first and I was floored! WOW… this book is more darker than I have read in awhile, and at first it took me a minute to figure out what type of book this was, but when I figured it out, I wasn’t sure how to feel about it. It was a good book don’t get me wrong, but I did have alot of questions.
This is the first audio book that I have listened to where the male and female characters shared a chapter, When the female was speaking we had a female and when the male was speaking the male was in. It was different than what i was used to due to that fact, but it blended well with two narrators. The narrators themselves really got in the role of Hunter and Rania
The story takes place in Iraq, Rania a young Arabic girl struggling to survive in the war of Iraq. She turns into a prostitute, and witnesses death all around her. She has no family, no mother, no father, and her brother was now dead. At this point she meets Hunter, the American solider that she saved from interchange of American soldiers and Iraq soldiers.
Hunter is an American Solider, serving in Iraq. With no family, and his best friend Derrick dead, himself injured now, he turns to Rania. Rania does not speak English and Hunter only speaks English. Hunter watches while she prostitutes- and has that sick feeling that he doesn’t like. Rania has to do this- she does this to survive, to eat. However my question is why would Hunter want to engage with a prostitute? Diseases? . But I than have to turn that side of my brain off and realize that Wounded is about sacrifice, healing and surviving and of course love!
At this point , the story moved fairly quickly, and the characters fall in love and get married quickly.
The book couldn’t be read in one sitting for me- well listened :).. It was pretty deep at some points that I had to walk away.
Over all, I enjoyed the story- was it realistic? Yes
Would I recommend to others? Only if you are into the dark stories
Was the narration unique”? Yes- with dual POV made the book more interesting.
