I never wanted to like a book so much as I wanted to like this one. Every other media I've come across Zelda -- TV, movies, other novels -- she was quite an interesting character. This novel made her seem dull and uninteresting. The story wasn't going anywhere, and I couldn't finish it.
Never say never.
No. Narrator was fine. Accent was perfect.
The characters were flat, uninteresting, and not exciting in the least.
The characters were cliches. The corrupt judge with the showgirl. It's been done a million times before.
Use a Spanish accent that doesn't sound Russian.
Disappointment. The title was promising but the book didn't deliver.
The Rosie project is among my top "reads" for this year.
The narrator made the main character seem real, very true to life.
Aspies need love, too.
I am so glad I came across this book on Audible. I've never enjoyed listening to a book more than this one. The story is about a genetic professor with Asperger's Syndrome (high-functioning autism) who embarks upon a quest to find a wife, through the scientific method of having women fill out a questionnaire, hence The Wife Project. Enter Rosie with her own set of problems, and he takes on The Rosie Project as well. The world turns topsy-turvy and hilarity ensues. I absolutely LOVED this book. I think the author is nothing short of brilliant.
