On the treacherous streets of Riverside, a man lives and dies by the sword. Even the nobles on the Hill turn to duels to settle their disputes. Within this elite, dangerous world, Richard St. Vier is the undisputed master, as skilled as he is ruthless--until a death by the sword is met with outrage instead of awe, and the city discovers that the line between hero and villain can be altered in the blink of an eye.

Would you try another book from Ellen Kushner and/or the narrators?

I might if all the background noise and sound effects were eliminated. I found it very distracting. It is not a movie, but an audio book.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Swordspoint?

The court room scene at the end.

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrators were very good and did make the characters enjoyable

    Any additional comments?

Eliminate all the noise, in background. It took away from the story, at least for me.

If you could sum up Seventh Grave and No Body in three words, what would they be?

    Supernatural, Superpower , Reaper

What did you like best about this story?

Charlie really finds out who she is and learns to use her powers. There are some very strange and nasty happenings, however every book in this series has just gotten better and better.

What about Lorelei King’s performance did you like?

I've listened to Lorelei King narrate other books and she's great. In this series she is Charlie, and she does all the characters fantastic. You always know who's speaking. I hope she continues to do the voice of Charlie.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed, I was emotional, I enjoyed this book because it really showed how Charlie not only comes into her powers, but never stops being a caring human being.....even though she's really not a human being, as we would define her.

    Any additional comments?

I'm really looking forward to the next book. I hope we don't have to wait to long, but if it's as good as this one and Lorelei King narrates, I know it will be fantastic. Thank you Darynda Jones for your great paranormal series :)

Emily Parker has a busy life over which she maintains iron-clad control. Raised by drug-addicted parents, she’s used to taking care of the people around her, to the exclusion of her own needs. But not tonight. After years of celibacy, she’s ready to pay for exactly what she wants: to surrender control, by having it taken away. Having worked as a high-priced escort for years, Nat Swayne not only enjoys her job - she’s damn good at it.

What did you love best about The Night Off?

Both characters came from difficult backgrounds and have seemed to rise above most of the horror in their past. What makes this a bit different is that the Nat (Butch) seems to get heart broken. In most stories it's the Fem who's crying her eyes out. In this case it would be Emily.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Night Off?

*SPOILER* When Emily realizes that she can't control her sister anymore now that she's no longer a minor. She can't use the excuse to deprive herself of happiness.

    Which scene was your favorite?

*SPOILER*When Colleen breaks in on Nat and Emily thinking that Nat is raping her older sister. It's a very emotional moment in the story, and a pivot point to say the least.

If you could rename The Night Off, what would you call it?

"Trust, and you can find Love"

    Any additional comments?

First the narrator (who I really enjoy) Alexandria Wilde, she is wonderful with erotica, and romantic stories and is great at voices and emotions. She can express passion and heartbreak, orgasm, and everything in between. She really made this story a very good listen. She also can change her voice so you know which character is speaking. That can be really hard when you have several female characters ranging from teen-age to mature woman in her 50's. This was a very different type of love story that started out as a paid ESCORT encounter, to a passionate love.

When novelist Owen Quine goes missing, his wife calls in private detective Cormoran Strike. At first, Mrs. Quine just thinks her husband has gone off by himself for a few days - as he has done before - and she wants Strike to find him and bring him home. But as Strike investigates, it becomes clear that there is more to Quine's disappearance than his wife realizes. The novelist has just completed a manuscript featuring poisonous pen-portraits of almost everyone he knows.

Where does The Silkworm rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

(Rowling) Galbraith writes in a way that I can only see as something I can not compare it too. I've listened to over 2000 audio books. The story lines the character development and the the ultimate solving of the mystery has been truly amazing in the first two books in this series.

What other book might you compare The Silkworm to and why?

I can't compare this book to any except the previous, one in the series

What does Robert Glenister bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Fantastic, he does all the voices, male and female beautifully. (and he even makes them all sound different) The emotions and expressions are fantastic. I hope he continues to voice this series

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were many, but one was when Robin realizes she has to let Matt know she loves the work she's doing and want's to continue. She truly enjoys working with her boss Cormoran Strike who is always determined to find the truth, especially when he has that gut feeling that all is not what it seems.

    Any additional comments?

This is one series I know I'm going to stick with. First Galbraith (Rowling) is a brilliant author, these stories are for adults not children. Lots of truly horrible things happen, and I'm not talking about sex. "Cuckoo's Calling" and now this one "Silkworm" are intense murder mysteries. Most books of this genre I can usually figure out who did the crime long before the telling chapter. I didn't know until the moment it was stated. That is a great story. Looking forward to more like this Thank you Audible for a great series for me to follow

Where does Undead and Unwary rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I've listened to this series since the start, and they are all laugh out loud funny. This one more than the others is one of the best since Betsy learns to take responsibility for her actions and really grows up. If you start with this book you loose a lot, you have to start with book 1 and go from there. I laughed out loud so many times with my headphones on my family was really starting to worry.....NOT.

What other book might you compare Undead and Unwary to and why?

I can only compare to Molly Harper Jane Jamison series......which was also laugh out loud funny, and about vampires.

    Which scene was your favorite?

There are so many and most of them are spoilers to anyone who's into the series. I don't want to ruin it for anyone but mostly about the "TWINS" so many laugh out loud moments.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

SPOILER: When Betsy realizes her sister has lied to her for a long time, and really doesn't care about her.

    Any additional comments?

I don't know what Ms. Davidson has in store for the next book, but I'm looking forward to it.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend the entire series to any of my friends. I am an atheist, and I take all stories of angels and daemons as fantasy. J.R. Ward was brilliant in this series with the war of good and evil. Each book in the series was better than the last. This one the final book in the series was great and had several twists that made it very enjoyable.

Who was your favorite character and why?

So many that make this series work, however Jim Devina and Sissy really play off each other so well. And of course Devina is an evil you love to hate. (Devina was so much more than evil) I loved her sessions with her Psychotherapist........(is she really the "Almighty"?) LOL. The heavenly cast of Archangels really are a mix too.

What does Eric Dove bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He was a fantastic narrator, doing both male and female voices great.......I couldn't believe how well he did Devina.......and Jim.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I actually started on Saturday night and finished on Sunday. It wasn't that long of a book just over 10 hours but truly a great ending to a series.....So many series are a disappointment with the endings.....However so far this is the second series I've completed that ended fantastic. Kim Harrison's "Rachael Morgan" series just ended and it to was narrated very well and ended beautifully. Thank you J.R. Ward for dong this so right. And Eric Dove for his fantastic narration.

    Any additional comments?

Not sure if there will be follow ups with Lassiter, and the the other Angels looking into things that delve into the BDB. I guess we'll just see.

If you love Molly Harper, you'll love this. People say that they can't believe that Kelsey makes such poor choices.....Well that's how we learn. And what good would the story be if everything went smoothly. I had lots of laugh out loud moments. (almost a given with Molly Harper).

What was one of the most memorable moments of Snow Falling on Bluegrass?

So many, but I don't want to give away anything. But one is when Kelsey and Charlie over hear Bonnie and Will talking......it really got me.

Have you listened to any of Amanda Ronconi’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Amanda Ronconi is a great narrator and I've listened to her do other stories, but she does all of Molly Harper books fantastic.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No crying just laugh out loud moments. Molly Harper writes to entertain, if you want deep thinking and tragic moments with reason and philosophy, read something else. Molly Harper is pure fun.

    Any additional comments?

I have every audible that's out there from Molly Harper and narrated by Amanda Ronconi....Love them and look forward to more.

I've loved this series since it first started and Khristine Hyam is it voice of all the characters done perfectly. This is Urban Para-Normal at it's best. You never really know what's coming around the corner until you get there. This one is a real emotional roller-coaster, and I loved every moment. .

What was one of the most memorable moments of Broken Soul?

So many, and they would all be spoilers if I went into why they were memorable.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I don't want to spoil this for anyone but when Jane and Beast have a conversation in the "Gray Space" It really is memorable in many way, and they have more than one.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes a moment with Wrestler, I don't want to spoil that either.

    Any additional comments?

I love this series, for many reasons, 1st being it is so different than any other urban para-normal out there, and many of them are great. Also Khristine Hyam is the voice of this series, she does French accents, and language, Cajun, N'Orleans, and just plain speak perfectly She would be great doing just about anything I believe, but she makes this series work on Audible. Looking forward to the next Jane Yellowrock book, eagerly. .

Best ever ending to a series.....!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Rachel, with out a doubt, Jinx, and Al. The whole cast of characters are wonderful, if you've been following the series like I have since the start. Still my favorite three.

Have you listened to any of Marguerite Gavin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Marguerite Gavin has been the voice of this series since the start. I love the way she's able to go from one character to another and you know who's speaking. Especially Jinx, Al and Ivy. She does an amazing job.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I had many feelings about this book, for many reasons. 1st that it's the last book in the series and I truly will miss many of the characters. However so many series have gone on too long and when it came to ending them they were a major disappointment. Kim Harrison did a great job on this final episode and I know that I will listen to the entire series again over the next few years. So many scenes left me emotional about the characters, but the beauty of this final chapter of Rachel Morgan is it has a wonderful ending.....Any fan who's listened this far, you must add to your collection. .

    Any additional comments?

I've enjoyed every book in this series and each one has gotten better. If Ms Harrison writes another about this "Witchy Witch" sometime in the future, I'm sure it too will be wonderful and I hope Marguerite Gavin does the narration. Way to go Harrison and Gavin. :)
