Listeners looking for a fresh twist on vampire tales need look no further than the erotically charged Black Dagger Brotherhood series. Mary Luce is dissatisfied with her life and her job. But when she is unwittingly thrust into the vampire dominion, everything changes. Falling under the protection of the Brotherhood's strongest member, Rhage, she soon finds herself drawn to his animalistic urges.

I see that people either love this series or they hate it. I'm thinking that they are only reading one book at a time, and not in order. If you Don't like Erotic Horror Fantasy. DON'T READ JR Ward books. I have read the first two of the "Fallen Angel" series and I'm hooked. That was the reason I started BDB. I am enjoying the BDB, but find the Fallen Angel series more to my liking so far. I'm up to book 4 in BDB and each one gives a different perspective of each member of the "Brotherhood". Erotic Horror Fantasy is not for everyone, and that is why I think it is important that you know what you are purchasing. I am enjoying the series so far and will continue. I am very much looking forward to the next "Fallen Angel"

What made the experience of listening to Dying by the Hour the most enjoyable?

More intense background into characters and much more action. This is a totally new way of looking at the genre.

What about Hollie Jackson’s performance did you like?

Holly Jackson is perfect, one of my favorite narrators. She's great with voices and emotions. When I see she's narrating a book I always check it out.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Ally was being choked, while so many people are dying around her Jesse chooses to try to save her.

    Any additional comments?

I know the next book is out in print, I hope audible releases it soon also.

On the morning before her 67th death, it is business as usual for Jesse Sullivan: meet with the mortician, counsel soon-to-be-dead clients, and have coffee while reading the latest regeneration theory. Jesse dies for a living, literally. As a Necronite, she is one of the population's rare 2% who can serve as a death replacement agent, dying so others don't have to.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Jesse Sullivan is a Necronite, and snarky as well. Necronites (a rare 2% of the population who can be death replacement agents). This is a contemporary paranormal novel with such a wonderful twist on the whole genre. Kory M. Shrum knows how to throw humor into the darkest moments. (and there are some very dark moments)

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jesse, shes like a fire cracker on speed. Got to love her. She has a big heart for those she cares about and finds out that her life is more complicated than the ever thought.

What does Hollie Jackson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Hollie Jackson is one of my favorite narrators. I've listened to her narrate many books and she always does a fantastic job with voices and emotions. When I see she's narrating a book I usually will almost always give it a try.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were several but they are spoilers and I don't want to ruin it for anyone starting this series.

    Any additional comments?

Looking forward to the second book in the series. The third book is not on Audible yet but I hope it will be soon.

Jodi Taylor’s best-selling series The Chronicles of St. Mary is back with a bang…St. Mary’s has been rebuilt, and it’s business as usual for the history department. But first there’s the little matter of a 17th-century ghost that only Mr. Markham can see. Not to mention the minor inconvenience of being trapped in the Great Fire of London…and an unfortunately timed comfort break at Thermopylae, leaving the fate of the Western world hanging in the balance.

What did you love best about No Time Like the Past?

I felt that the action and of course the villeins were what made this one of the most interesting so far. The different times they go to and the really scary things that happen every time to Max. I felt the best was Thermopylae

    Which scene was your favorite?

    Max of course

    Any additional comments?

I loved all the characters, they are very touching and you can't help but care about them. The villeins are really vile. I don't know if there will be any more in this series. If there are I know I'll most likely get.

Would you listen to Beauty's Kingdom again? Why?

If you listened to the first three in this series, you should listen to this. Remember this book takes place 20 years after the ending of the trilogy. Many things and people have changed. Even though Beauty is only 35, or 36 years old and still exquisite, there are many characters being brought back and some new ones to learn about.

What did you like best about this story?

The changes that are brought about in "Beauties Kingdom", It brings back a time of glory and a better hand of safety for those who CHOOSE to be SLAVES. In order to understand this book, you really have had to listen to the first three. (not abridged).

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to several of the narrators and they all did a fine job in this book.

    Any additional comments?

This book is not like the first three, it has a different slant, and it is changing the way the country is being run. Beauty sees a way to revive the land and bring people back. It works, and she also finds out that she can get what she wants as well and still be Queen.

At exactly 7:30 p.m., Walter Pettibone arrived home to over a hundred friends and family shouting, "surprise!" It was his birthday. Although he had known about the planned event for weeks, the real surprise was yet to come. At 8:45 p.m., a woman with emerald eyes and red hair handed him a glass of champagne. One sip of birthday bubbly, and he was dead.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Eve, and Peabody...... but all the characters and the emotions are fantastic

What about Susan Ericksen’s performance did you like?

Susan Ericksen brought this book to life, Peabody's parents, when Eve and Rorke go to Dallas and she returns to the hotel where she left her father. So much emotion and power in the telling. This story was a knock out and done beautifully

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I missed this one even though I have 39 books in the series. I just purchased when it was on sale and glad I did. So much in this story.

    Any additional comments?

Even though I've listened to all the previous "In Death" books before this one. It didn't loose anything for me it really made some things clearer. Eve and Rorke both have lots of baggage from their childhood, Eve's being the most horrible. However they support each other. That is the bottom line. I've really like this series so far and glad I went back and got this book.

What made the experience of listening to Angles of Attack the most enjoyable?

I've listened to all three books in this series, and thought it's supposed to be a trilogy. It was really exciting and full of action, except the ending left an opening for a sequel, another book in this series. I'm sure it will be good, but when you expect a trilogy, shouldn't it be that? Sometimes authors get caught up in their story lines and or characters. I'm not sure which. Kloos is fantastic with creating both, but I really get annoyed with authors that don't know when to end. Even if the series is fantastic, sometimes it's time to move on.

What did you like best about this story?

None stop action Kloos knows how to create action and keep it moving. Really love that.

Have you listened to any of Luke Daniels’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Luke Daniels is one of my favorite narrators, from Iron Druid, to 600 hours of Edward. He's fantastic with voices, accents and emotions.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    Yes many

    Any additional comments?

If the author chooses to continue this series I will get the next book, however I hope that he thinks of a way to end it with reason. I've had several authors end series very well and enjoyed the final book too. (Some don't end the series well, and that too is a shame)

It isn’t easy being Sunday’s child, not when you’re the rather overlooked and unhappy youngest sibling to sisters named for the other six days of the week. Sunday’s only comfort is writing stories, although what she writes has a terrible tendency to come true. When Sunday meets an enchanted frog who asks about her stories, the two become friends. Soon that friendship deepens into something magical. One night, Sunday kisses her frog goodbye and leaves, not realizing that her love has transformed him....

After several years as a submissive, psychology lecturer Beth is eager to experience being on the other end of the whip for a change. When she meets sweet but socially awkward Ed at a party, it's obvious the aerospace engineer is interested - and obvious he's way too vanilla. When tracking down a friend lands him in a BDSM club, Ed's eyes are opened to a whole other world - and a whole other side of Beth. Then Beth's former Master shows up, and Ed agrees to play along as her sub in exchange for a real date.

Would you listen to The Principle of Desire again? Why?

Most likely, it was well written and the story line was interesting. About a woman who's into the BDSM seen as a submissive, but wants to try topping. Her "Top" is not happy with this and they separate. In the interim she meets a vanilla rocket scientist (He really is) and they start something that ends up shaking both their worlds up more than they thought.

What did you like best about this story?

This is something that just might happen, where things in a persons life bring them to a point for them to make decisions about who they are and what they want to do with the rest of their lives. The woman in the story had a strong personality and she was willing to try new things.

    Which scene was your favorite?

There were several, one was when Ed tried topping Beth. Had some interesting moments.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

When a person makes a choice to change their circumstance after 7 years its not easy, but it takes strength and faith in yourself to move on. I think that is something that touched me about this book.

    Any additional comments?

I never listened to any other stories by this author but I know the narrator and the book was on sale so I gave it a try. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the story.

Where does Off the Grid rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I can only compare to the rest of the Jane Yellowrock series, and as usual it is a stand out short story. Well worth the price, and I got on sale.

What did you like best about this story?

A surprise for Jane, Nell is a really strange woman with powers, that she really doesn't want anyone to know about. (because for years she was tortured because of them and had to hide them) To Nell anything super natural is evil so she believes she is (at least this is what I get from her interactions with Jane)

Have you listened to any of Khristine Hvam’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've listened to her in all of the "Yellowrock" series and in other audiobooks as well, she is a natural for narrations.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Don't let anyone know who you really are.

    Any additional comments?

I hope that Faith Hunter finds a way to put Nell in future stories of Jane. I think bringing her out to accept who she is and give her faith in her powers could be a very interesting add on to a story. This was well worth the price for the story line even though the ending kind of left you hanging about Nell.
