This was a real page turner. I've never heard of, or read anything by Brad Thor, but am very glad I found this book. The plot was excellent, yet easy to follow. George did his usual great job as narrator. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!
I like Brad Thor. I've read to most of the books in this series. Some parts are real page turners and then things slow down and then pick up again. If you are into mysteries and thrillers, I would say spend a credit on this one. The narration is excellent!
I find it interesting that a number of authors are bringing some of their earliest publication into the digital age. This is one of them. Grafton is still a leutenant fighter pilot in this 1996 book.It is a fun read and fills in some of his early history. The narration was Excellent. The ending was AWFUL. Coonts doesn't even hint at their being more to come in the Grafton series. Unless I missed something, This read like a stand alone book
As post apocalyptic stories goes this is probably the best I've read, although I haven't completely read any zombie books. This sounded just interesting enough to try, especially with Audible's new return policy. I was very pleasantly surprised. The story line had a b bit if a twist and there we're a bunch of blood thirsty mindless zombies constantly out looking for human food. Yes, there was some of that, but it more about surving and rebuilding the population. I managed to get through it but would not do it again. Unless you are into this genre, I wouldn't spend a credit on it. The narration also made it difficult for me to stay with it. Just not my cup of tea
I think this is one of the nest books he has written in quite a while..Patrick Lawlor did his usual excellent job as narrator. If there is anything negative to say at all is the way it ends. It's like there are two endings/ Other than that it exceeptionsl. A real page turner!
I have been reading Audible books for over a dozen years and have only put down 1 book without finishing it. I tried Very Hard to make it through this one but couldn't do it. Maybe I'm getting old and am just discussed with adults abusing and killing children, This book has the basic adult mystery,, entwines with child rape and murder, father and daughter relationship mixed with both. The narrator was very irritating!. He drove me nuts. If I knew what I was going hear, I certainly would not have wasted a credit.
I enjoyed this book but doubt that I would buy it again. It did have a lot of twists and turns that all came together at the end. I didn't have a problem finding stopping points to temporarily put it down. The narrator did a decent job. If you like a good mystery that is a cross of creepy, mystical, police search and dysfunctional families, this book id for you,and worth a credit.
Overall, I really liked this book. There were places where Thor spent too much time on details that should have been self explainable, and therefore a bit tedious to get though. It is a good story with a couple of neat twists. You can figure out the basic ending about 1/2 way through, but how he got there was worth the time to read exactly how the characters got there. Writing out one of the main characters Was a surprise. Spend a credit, it is worth it.
What can I say. If you like this series, you will like this one as well. I love this character. As usual, Koontz puts you in the story. On the downside, to get the most out this one, it will help if you have followed Odd from the beginning. If this is your first "ODD" book, you will still enjoy it. Well worth a credit.
This was a waste of a credit. I have read all of his books and Coonts is one of my very favorite authors. I think this is the worst book he has done. The story was not that interesting and the narration was irritating. If you like Coonts, you will be disappointed with this book!
I never heard of this author but am really glad I downloaded it. The only way I can think to describe it is; a light but compelling mystery. It isn't a page turner, but I couldn't put down.It is Defiantly worth using credit!
