This is a great read/listen and I enjoyed it enough to listen to it again at some point in the future.
It is not one of Turow's best, but very close. He is a gifted story teller and all his books I've read get 5 stars.
The narrator was excellent. I've listened to other books by the same narrator and always enjoyed being able to follow the storyline with ease and to get the nuance and mood of what the author is telling the readers.
Overall this book gets 5 stars in all categories.
Change the narrator and the author.
The story seemed to be good, but the narrator was worse than a middle school kid reading a book report and the book was a poorly written high school essay.
No voice training or experience in story narrating. Terrible voice. She's narrating a chronicle. Impossible to distinguish the different characters. Impossible to inmerse into the story or the emotions that make up the story. One thing is to be the author and a character who participates and is a witness of the events in the story, but this does not qualify you to professionally narrate the story.
Remake the entire audiobook.
Yes, I would listen again. I also have the printed version and I have other similar reference books and other materials. I'm a Zen master and a Neurologist. I integrate alternative medicine in my practice. I give several lectures and lead several retreats every year. I use reference material all the time. I have added this title to my reference material. It is well written and has substantial and reliable peer reviewed references. This is a resource that I would highly recommend to people interested in undestanding the neurobiology of meditation, prayer and the effects of neuroimmunology in supporting health and aiding in the treatment of disease.
The structure of the book is well layed out and has a logical sequence with easy to understand language and straightforward linking of concepts to the scientific concepts and references.
Other recommended reading: "Who is in charge" by Michael Gazzaniga
I did not read the print version.
The narrator helps me visualize the story better than if I were readin the book.
