  • Beastly

    • UNABRIDGED (6 hrs and 41 mins)
    • By Alex Flinn
    • Narrated By Chris Patton
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

"A beast. Not quite wolf or bear, gorilla or dog but a horrible new creature who walks upright – a creature with fangs and claws and hair springing from every pore. I am a monster. You think I’m talking fairy tales? No way. The place is New York City. The time is now. It’s no deformity, no disease. And I’ll stay this way forever – ruined – unless I can break the spell...."

Felicia The Geeky Blogger says: "Chris Patton did a wonderful job"
    "I enjoyed it"

Though very predictable, i really did enjoy it. If you have seen the Disney movie, then you KNOW the story, but the performance was nice and i enjoyed it very much.

  • Ashes: Ashes Trilogy, Book 1

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 6 mins)
    • By Ilsa J. Bick
    • Narrated By Katherine Kellgren

An electromagnetic pulse flashes across the sky, destroying every electronic device and killing billions. Alex hiked into the woods to say good-bye to her dead parents and her personal demons. Now desperate to find out what happened after the pulse crushes her to the ground, Alex meets up with Tom, a young soldier, and Ellie, a girl whose grandfather was killed by the EMP. For this improvised family and the others who are spared, it's now a question of who can be trusted and who is no longer human.

Aser Tolentino says: "Another Readable Story About the End of the World"
    "REALLY Graphic"

I liked the book initially but as I listened further it became increasingly graphic, dark and disturbing. There were several themes/topics that actually led to me to decide not to finish the book-they were descriptive violence, cannibalism and several other dark themes. I'm disappointed that the book is over the top with such gratuitous details.

  • I Am Number Four

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 32 mins)
    • By Pittacus Lore
    • Narrated By Neil Kaplan
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Nine of us came here. We look like you. We talk like you. We live among you. But we are not you. We can do things you dream of doing. We have powers you dream of having. We are stronger and faster than anything you have ever seen. We are the superheroes you worship in movies and comic books—but we are real.

Audiobook Addict says: "Starts off a Great Series"
    "Narrator is awful!"

I bought the book and then downloaded the audio book-everyone raved about it and I must say the reader/narrator was just awful. He ruined the book, making it sound mundane! I nearly did not finish listening to the book. His reading style was not impressive, I was rather underwhelmed; as many of you know the reader either MAKE or BREAK a story well...he broke it into a million pieces. I barely got through it!

  • METAtropolis Free Story: 'In the Forests of the Night'

    • UNABRIDGED (2 hrs and 15 mins)
    • By Jay Lake
    • Narrated By Michael Hogan

“In the Forests of the Night” is from the Hugo and Audie Award-nominated METAtropolis, an intelligent and stunning creation of five cutting-edge science-fiction writers, performed by an amazing cast of elite narrators and stars from TV’s Battlestar Galactica. METAtropolis takes place in a future where cities have transformed or died, and technologists, eco-survivalists, and civilization itself vie for continued existence.

    Robert says: "Great writer-narrator combination"
    "Not Great"

I found the book difficult to follow, I felt as though it started in the middle of a chapter and candidly it seem to go downhill after that,,,I was so underwhelmed that I did NOT finish the book.

  • Reaper: Free Novella

    • UNABRIDGED (1 hr and 52 mins)
    • By Rachel Vincent
    • Narrated By Anthony Haden Salerno

Tod Hudson was a typical teenager. He liked girls, sports, food and tolerated his younger brother, Nash. In fact, he had his whole life in front of him--and due to his bean sidhe heritage, it was going to be a very long life indeed. And then the car accident occurred.

    Dorothy says: "Reaper"
    "Good Read"

Though very short it was a good read, enjoyable and thought provoking. The reader had to make a few enjoyable leaps to comprehend the inferences; it was well written. I do not like foul language when I read and that was the only drawback, I would NOT share this story with my family due to the over use of unnecessary expletives - which disappoints me as I think they would have enjoyed the story.
