Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yes I enjoyed listening bc I can did other things while I do.

Would you be willing to try another one of Mare Trevathan’s performances?

I have listened to the entire series. The worst part is the narration. The principal character is young but the narrator has a very odd voice not one of someone young. I almost did not purchase the first book in the series but the story seemed fun so I opted to give it a try. Each book is no easier to listen to her as the story teller.

Do you think Make Me needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Yes the story is clearly not compete.

As usual BDB books are great, I always look forward to and really enjoy reading (listening) to them. BUT, Why would someone have the narrator, Jim Frangione, who is always fantastic , CHANGE THE PRONUNCIATION OF NAMES now in BOOK 13!!!
The name pronunciation changes for Xcor and Xhex, in particular, are awful and initially i wasnt sure whom he was reffering to. And, going by most of the BDB names why would one be called "Core" phonetically, "Score" as he pronounced it in past makes much more sense for Xcor.
I would not have had a clue who he was referring to except luckily i read a review when I bought the book that mentioned these name pronunciation changes.
Please have Jim change change his name pronunciation back to the way he did the PREVIOUS 12 BOOKS!!!
Otherwise, i really liked this book!

The Others freed the cassandra sangue to protect the blood prophets from exploitation, not realizing their actions would have dire consequences. i will get Book 2. i look forward to seeing where the story takes us,. I do hope more details are given regarding the Arcana, i do think certain story aspects ie, Evie not trusting Jack and constantly mulling it over ,were done to death, while the basis of the story the arcana was given in tiny bits only.

I initially was disappointed in this book and the ending but once i thought about it it holds much more truly than most stories. after a war people are damaged, some are dead but no one goes unscathed. This story gives light to those ugly truths even if it didnt end as dramatically or pretty as most hoped for.
i think the author tried to give an authentic "feel" to how wars are won and people are used and what happens to people after its over.

A smashing, award-winning debut novel that introduces Charley Davidson: part-time private investigator and full-time Grim Reaper. Charley sees dead people. That’s right, she sees dead people. And it’s her job to convince them to “go into the light”. But when these very dead people have died under less than ideal circumstances (i.e. murder), sometimes they want Charley to bring the bad guys to justice. Complicating matters are the intensely hot dreams she’s been having about an Entity who has been following her all her life...and it turns out he might not be dead after all.

Carrie Vaughn's Low Midnight spins out of the Kitty Norville series on the wave of popularity surrounding Kitty's most popular supporting character: Cormac Bennett, a two-minded assassin of the paranormal who specializes in killing lycanthropes. In his first solo adventure, Cormac, struggling with a foreign consciousness trapped inside him, investigates a century-old crime in a Colorado mining town, which could be the key to translating a mysterious coded diary... a tome with secrets that could shatter Kitty's world and all who inhabit it.

With a framing sequence that features Kitty Norville herself, Low Midnight not only pushes the Kitty saga forward but also illuminates Cormac's past and lays the groundwork for Kitty's future.

This book is written from Cormac's pov, it was good, im looking forward to reading the next book in this Cormac subseries. Roman, the long game and Kitty & Ben will all be part of the next book, im pretty sure.
the previous Kitty book lagged badly and i get the feeling the author was running out of Kitty adventure material but now that she is writing Cormac's story and incorporating his past i think the series will be refreshed and back to being fantastic!!
