The Empire stands at the brink of total collapse. But they have saved their most heinous plan for last. First a plot is hatched that could destroy the New Republic in a bloodbath of genocide and civil war. Would you listen to Star Wars: Specter of the Past: The Hand of Thrawn, Book 1 again? Why?

I have already listened to this book twice and will probably listen to it again just before book 2 comes out. It is a good story, superbly narated and produced

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    No, it was too long!

I was so excited when I discovered that Marc Thompson would be reading the unabridged version of the Thrawn trilogy. After listening I must say I was not disappointed! Thompson does such a good job with all the different characters, he has to rank as my second favourite narator. The story was great - as all books by Zahn are.

The Wheel. A ring of ice and steel turning around a moon of Saturn, and home to a mining colony supplying a resource-hungry Earth. It's a bad place to grow up. The colony has been plagued by problems. Maybe it's just gremlins, just bad luck. But the equipment failures and thefts of resources have been increasing, and there have been stories among the children of mysterious creatures glimpsed aboard the Wheel. Many of the younger workers refuse to go down the warren-like mines anymore.

Would you consider the audio edition of Doctor Who: Wheel of Ice to be better than the print version?

Yes, it is worth the time to listen.

What does David Troughton bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The lovely naration of David Troughton is a highlight. He does a great job playing his father, but is was also a treat to hear how he narrated the other characters.

Three decades have passed since Wraith Squadron carried out its last mission. Taking on the most dangerous and daring operations, the rogues and misfits of the elite X-Wing unit became legends of the Rebellion and the Second Galactic Civil War, before breaking up and going their separate ways. Now their singular skills are back in vital demand - for a tailor-made Wraith Squadron mission. A powerful general in the Galactic Alliance Army, once renowned for his valor, is suspected of participating in the infamous Lecersen Conspiracy, which nearly toppled the Alliance back into the merciless hands of the Empire.

It is hard to make a Gamorean likeable but Piggy is the exception.

Where does Star Wars: The Thrawn Trilogy, Book 3: The Last Command rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This was one of the best! I love the fact that they have started doing unabridged versions of the older (and in my opinion, better) Star Wars books.

Lymstock is a town with more than its share of shameful secrets - a town where even a sudden outbreak of anonymous hate mail causes only a minor stir. But all that changes when one of the recipients, Mrs Symmington, commits suicide. Her final note said, "I can't go on". Only Miss Marple questions the coroner's verdict of suicide.
