Knowing that author White has ended this series saddens me, because I love it so much. After many books, Alan, Lauren and Sam are like old friends that I know so, so well. This book goes deeper into Alan's weaknesses and has surprising twists and turns. Really good, classic Stephen White. I like the reader a lot too. He almost always keeps the voices distinct.
This is a satisfying story. I love the characters of Joe Pickett and his family. This story pulls in someone from Mary Beth's past in an interesting way. I especially enjoy the descriptions of Wyoming's natural landscape and its beauty. The plot moves at a good pace. If you liked the first book in the series, you will like this one too. I'm about to download the next one.
This is a great book! I loved the character of Joe Pickett and the plot really kept me guessing and interested. This story worked on all levels. The mystery, the family sub-plot and the Wyoming setting were all terrific. I highly recomend it. I can't wait to get the next book in the series.
I'm a big fan of mysteries and The plot shocked me. The Narrators were fantastic. I'm in awe of this book. Highly recommend.
I really enjoyed this. The narrator has a beautiful, authentic sounding African accent. The style of writing takes a bit of getting used to, but overall, it's a beautiful book.
I'd never heard of Robert Crais when this book came up as a Daily Deal. The plot appealed to me, so I tried it. Wow--I'm so glad I did. I really enjoyed the characterization and the story line. As an animal lover, Maggie was a legitimate character to me. I rooted for her as much as the humans in the book, if not more. I hope Crais continues and developes this into a series of books with these characters. Are you listening Mr. Crais?
