The first novel in Simon Scarrow's bestselling Roman series. It is 42 AD, and Quintus Licinius Cato has just arrived in Germany as a new recruit to the Second Legion, the toughest in the Roman army. If adjusting to the rigours of military life isn't difficult enough for the bookish young man, he also has to contend with the disgust of his colleagues when, because of his imperial connections, he is appointed a rank above them.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes i Would recommend this book to a friend it was a good read and well worth it.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Under the Eagle?

The most memorable moment from the book was the battle at the German village at the beginning of the book. It sets the stage for the type of people the characters are.

Which character – as performed by David Thorpe – was your favorite?

Both Cato and Macro were were my favorite characters.

    Any additional comments?

This is a good book that was well worth listening to. The only problem I had with it was that there are scenes and twists in the story that don't have anything else to do with anything. Like the part where Cato gets caught in the tent with the thief, why did he need to be there when he couldn't identify the thief in the dark? It was pointless and 15 minutes worth of listening that didn't add any significance to the book. I did like the story line though and would like to see the second book "Conquest" get put on Audible in English rather than Latin (I think its in Latin at least).

Husband-and-wife team Sam and Remi Fargo are intrigued when an archaeologist friend requests their help excavating a top secret historical site. What they find will set them on a hunt for a prize greater than they could ever imagine. The clues point to the hidden tomb of Attila the Hun, the High King who was reportedly buried with a vast fortune of gold and jewels and plunder....a bounty that has never been found. As they follow the trail, the Fargos will find themselves pitted against a thieving group of treasure hunters.

Would you listen to The Tombs again? Why?

No there are to many other books I haven't read or listened to yet.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

SPOILER ALERT: The most interesting aspect was that they were hunting for the tomb of Atilla the Hun and after finding treasure cashes and clues all over Europe and Asia he winds up being buried in the Roman catacombs behind a false wall.

The least interesting aspect was that the bad guys in the book are about as smart and scary as 1st graders and their henchmen are even worse, and then the Fargos are like Einstein in comparison. Then they wait till the very end for the Fargos and the bad guys to have a shoot out .... IN CALIFORNIA AFTER THEY FOUND THE TREASURE AND PUT IT IN MUSEUMS. Just when i thought it was over there were four more chapters that were completely pointless.

What aspect of Scott Brick’s performance would you have changed?

He needs to put a little more enthusiasm into the characters the way he read it made it seem like the characters were bored all the time

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely not as it was it took me most of a month to get through it.

    Any additional comments?

This is the second Fargo Adventure I've listened to and the other one wasn't any better. Its kind of a mix between romance, adventure and mystery that failed miserably, and should be covered in bacon and thrown into a kennel full of trained German Sheppard attack dogs.

Jungles come in many forms. There are the steamy rain forests of the Burmese highlands. There are the lies and betrayals of the world of covert operations. And there are the dark and twisted thoughts of a man bent on near-global domination. To pull off their latest mission, Juan Cabrillo and the crew of the Oregon must survive them all.

What made the experience of listening to The Jungle the most enjoyable?

    The story line

    Any additional comments?

This is a good book that made a long drive bearable. The plot is good as well as the characters. The only thing i would change is the Narrator, the guy is very mono-toned and doesn't really put any effort into differentiating between characters.
