Fascinating, interesting, life-changing.
Prof Sapolsky's style just makes him a winner. He's my new hero.
No, this is the first
24+ courses was too big to listen in one sitting, but I have started to listen again. This has just made so much sense and the structure of the courses makes it easy to listen to.
I have listened to quite a few of the great courses, and I believe that if this is a subject you are interested in, this is a stand out.
I work in healthcare and loved Prof Benaroch's approach. Each Grand Round was interesting, with enough detail to ensure that you felt included in the diagnostic process. He covered the major issue in healthcare today - health literacy and ensuring that patients understand and contribute to their own health care.
All of the Grand Round cases were great, but I think the Grand Round where a normally fit and healthy lady discovers she has breast cancer which is causing soreness in her hip was particularly poignant.
I thought his performance was brilliant. He is enthusiastic without being over the top. He makes you feel as if you are in the room with you and he is talking directly to you in a casual, informative manner.
No, neither. But...I have listened to it several times and have recommended it to our consumer advocates to show how patients need to be aware that doctors and the health system aren't infallible and need their input to get the best results.
Thoroughly recommend this to anyone interested in healthcare and understanding how they can contribute to their own healthcare within the system.
Loved the story, but the narrator was dreadful. My family couldn't listen to it, as the narrator's inflections were in the wrong places. She didn't give Katniss the right type of inflections, and made her sound weak and old, instead of a 17 year old fighter.
Haymitch, only because he's a drunk who calls it as he sees it.
So, so bad. She just doesn't seem to get the character.
No, not with the same narrator
I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
The character development and the depth in the characters.
No, I haven't
When Nelson was so terrified. The description of him crying in the night really moved me.
I had tried to read this book, but just couldn't. Everyone told me it was great, so decided to see if I could listen to it instead. I was hooked. Loved listening to it and couldn't stop until it was done. This is an issue as it is a huge book!!
Think it was excellent as is
Definitely, already looking for more of his works.
Enthusiasm. His style was entertaining whilst being educational. Really got us thinking
Great value and thoroughly enjoyable. Interesting subjects which were well handled.
