First of all a big sorry to Dennis from California, your statement about disturbing Moose Calls was spot on. Unfortunately I didn't listen, totally my fault. For others thinking about buying this read all the negative reviews before you do so. They really do cover everything you need to know. I cant believe anyone could find this relaxing, simply mind boggling. In my opinion and obviously some others opinions its not worth the money or waste of your time. Please note there is more than one page of reviews, look back through them all taking special note of all the negative ones that I previously missed. You wont regret it. Note: I realize everyone has different opinions and some people may ????? find this tape relaxing but if you buy this then find its bad write a review to say so. (I usually don't bother) But when somethings this bad people need to be warned. I realize that people have different opinions but I really have to wonder if some of these poitive reviews on some books are written by people with an agenda - Enough said I dont want to upset people and I accept this may not always be the case. I really do hope this helps some of you.

This is a book about 10 "Great Ideas". Each chapter is an attempt to savor one idea that has been discovered by several of the world's civilizations - to question it in light of what we now know from scientific research, and to extract from it the lessons that still apply to our modern lives.

I regret this review will be of little help for most but my heading says it all. I can't believe this was given such a high rating by so many people.

Ayn Rand discusses how a writer combines abstract ideas with concrete action and description to achieve a unity of theme, plot, characterization, and style, the four essential elements of fiction. Here, too, are Rand's illuminating analyses of passages from famous writers, rewrites of scenes from her own works, and fascinating rules for building dramatic plots and characters with depth.

I really feel this statement ("Not worth you money or time") may be the biggest understatement of all time - I found this lady very hard to follow. I had one very small aha moment amongst an AVALANCHE OF MIND NUMBINGLY BORING LISTENING. (AND I MUST STRESS IT WAS A VERY SMALL MOMENT) This lady has a very high opinion of her own writing but if any of her long excerts that she reads out as examples are anything to go on then she's really not all that. Its up to you but I would really reccommend saving your money on this one and highly reccomment that you buy and listen to Stein on writing. A FAR SUPERIOR BOOK!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot stress this enough - FAR SUPERIOR!!!!!!!! (With Stein you will get the one small aha moment I got from Rand and many more to boot) PLUS HE WONT BORE THE PANTS OFF YOU!!!!!!

  • What Is Meditation?

Meditation can be a part of every moment of life. We traditionally view meditation as the form of “doing”. Sitting quietly, dedicating ‘time’ to do the act of mediation. This recording encourages you to let go of the notion that you need to ‘do’ meditation. Allow it to be a part of your every moment. You will receive guidance on how to access a ‘meditative state’ while being able to function through the forms of existence (going to work, parenting, driving).

You need to be warned (I wish I had been) This is really quite bizarre. It is not a book. It has obviously been taped at a live show because you can hear the audience (and the speaker )laughing, snickering throughout. This is just annoying because the jokes just dont cross over onto the recording. It is quite slow at times with big gaps between words and sentences (also boring) Bottom line is that it is very, very hard to listen to or to follow. I feel the title is very misleading. I considered listening again but dont know if I can because it was just so darn annoying and boring!!!! I really feel I must have missed something, this really is quite confusing. This is one hour and four minutes of my life that I will never get back. I have to add that this is written by a person that likes the authors books so maybe it comes down to buy the book not the recording. PS: I really am wondering about the one person who wrote a good review of this book but accept that everyone has their own opinion. You have been warned :-)
