It was better than Old Filth
I am not interested in reading anything more by this author. I only read the second book to see if it could shed any light on the first.
The narrator was just fine.
While I thought the story was engaging and Eli was a likable and realistic character, I can't get over the reading of the book. I should have read it rather than listen because Luke Daniels' interpretation of the characters' reactions and personalities was so exaggerated and irritating.
The continuation of the family characters from the first book. The character development is great.
I like that Follett's characters grew, yet their basic personalities did not change drastically. They remained themselves, entirely believable.
John Lee is just great to listen to.
I don't believe I can listen to another book by this author. It would probably be easier to actually read than listen to. It took until the second half of the book to clarify the characters, their roles, and how the plot would eventually come together. Entirely too disjointed for me.
I don't believe I would read these stories. Of course, that is why I listen to books. I will always listen to books that I wouldn't pick up to read.
Not exactly on the edge of my seat, but Henning does write a good story. I find the contrast between his writing style and most American authors interesting. I believe that American authors are more into the action and violence, while Henning seems to want us to know Wallender as a human being as well as a detective.
I am not a great fan of Dick Hill but will listen to him because of the story.
Only if the friend likes horror stories.
As far as I am concerned this book should be placed in the horror genre and is misplaced in the mystery section.
I found the reader's voice to be rather flat.
I would place this book along side some of the Stephen King and Dean Koontz books. I do not enjoy them. Horror is not my genre. I am glad I only wasted 4.95 on this book and not a credit.
All of them
This book was so good that I need to listen to it again - it has been a long time. I recommended it to several people which is something I don't often do. I even gave a couple away for gifts to readers rather than listeners.
I have the other one - will hope it is better.
Can't remember much about the book
I am listening to this book for the third time. I love Heather O'Neill's voice and this is a great story.
