Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and veteran author William R. Forstchen combine their talents in this powerful and rousing alternate history of the most legendary Civil War clash.

    "give it a pass"
    Overall

An interesting alternative to the way Gettysburg actually played out but poorly developed. Much too bloody. The authors are more interested in describing the grusomeness of battle than the larger ideas/dilemas/problems facing the principal actors. This is afterall what most Civil War buffs are interested in.

In her first novel since 2002, Nebula and Hugo award-winning author Connie Willis returns with a stunning, enormously entertaining novel of time travel, war, and the deeds - great and small - of ordinary people who shape history. In the hands of this acclaimed storyteller, the past and future collideand the result is at once intriguing, elusive, and frightening.

Would you try another book from Connie Willis and/or Katherine Kellgren, and Connie Willis?

No, I would not try another book by Willis

What could Connie Willis have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Chosen a better voice to read the story.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Shrill voice, much too excited, detracts from the moderately interesting story line

What character would you cut from Blackout?

    No opinion
