Many of the tracks were cut incorrectly, so you had to go to the end of the prior track to know what landmark was being discussed. The file also jumped around, so even though the accomanying guide was numbered, it didn't track well with the audio files.

If the author wants to use this format, would prefer starting with a general introduction up front of all of the key highlights to see in NYC, then tell us what track # the specifics are at (and title the tracks accordingly), then step through as an actual audio tour. This was more of a history lesson (with good information, which is why I gave 2 stars - although I had the information already in my guidebook). We ended up not using this audio file at all on our trip, so this was a waste of my $.

Ken Follett's World Without End was a global phenomenon, a work of grand historical sweep beloved by millions of readers and acclaimed by critics. Fall of Giants is his magnificent new historical epic. The first novel in The Century Trilogy, it follows the fates of five interrelated families - American, German, Russian, English, and Welsh - as they move through the world-shaking dramas of the First World War, the Russian Revolution, and the struggle for women's suffrage.

This book follows several families throughout the time preceding and during WWI. The character development is excellent. While there are some slower sections, the combined storyline was well laid out and executed. I learned more detail about how life may have been during this time than expected. I enjoy Follett's books. I am a huge fan of James A. Michener, and Follett's Fall of Giants and Pillars of the Earth remind me of his works. I recommend the book, and despite taking months to complete, I truly enjoyed it all!

Ken Follett and John Lee, the author and narrator of Pillars of the Earth and World Without End, are back together again for Fall of Giants, the first in The Century Trilogy. They recently chatted with Audible editor Diana Dapito about the new epic book, and what it was like to write and record it.

When world-class biblical scholar Bart Ehrman first began to study the texts of the Bible in their original languages he was startled to discover the multitude of mistakes and intentional alterations that had been made by earlier translators. In Misquoting Jesus, Ehrman tells the story behind the mistakes and changes that ancient scribes made to the New Testament and shows the great impact they had upon the Bible we use today.

You need to have an interest in history to truly appreciate this book. I am not extremely religious, but do find religion fascinating - especially as it changes over time. The reader was rather dry, but with the content being so scientific, it was expected. I do recommend the content for anyone inquisitive in truly getting to the true source of Jesus' teachings through the quest to find the oldest remaining scriptures and identify mistakes or changes in the new testament texts.

Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

This is only the second book that I have ever picked up after seeing the movie (first being the Timetravelers Wife). I could tell there was so much more underneath that couldn't be depicted in the movie. I listened as much as possible and was pulled into the story. The books were so well written and I finished the final two books in 2 weeks because I was so engrossed by the storyline. At first, I had a hard time with the reader because I felt everything was moving too slowly. I kept reminding myself that the books were written for young adults. The reader grew on me, though, and after the first hour I was in sync and enjoyed the portrayal. I highly recommend this series!

For every professional woman who wants to get ahead, but feels she is at an impasse, Nice Girls Don't Get the Corner Office comes to the rescue. In this program, Dr. Frankel, reveals the 101 self-sabotaging behaviors women learn as girls, behaviors and habits that are now holding them back in the workplace, such as couching statements as questions, tilting one's head when they speak, waiting to be noticed, and pinching company pennies.

I had "Nice Girls Don't Get the Corner Office" on my shelf, unread, for years, so finally purchased the audiobook file. The information seems basic at first blush, but when put into context, the Coaching Tips are priceless. Having never been in some of these situations (fortunately), I now have some idea of how to react should they ever arise - and have a book to reference after I have gone down Ebbinghaus' forgetting curve. Worth the time listening.
